Mr Merle abandoned some on the kitchen table a few days ago... maybe I should rehome them....
Maybe???? you ask my niece any penny found without it's master or mistress is fair game for the rest of us :)
  • All this talk has inspired me to count my coin jar. I've been a bit naughty lately and spent most of the larger value coins (50ps, £1s) when i've needed to pop to the shop for milk etc but there's still a fair few coppers and 5's - 475 pennies to be exact.

I used to find quite a few of these around the house but no more because now even my dd has a penny jar, and she has shamed her boyfriend in doing the same, as he used to put pennies in the bin!:eek:

    Yay :j
By making on overpayment to my F/mans debt before the 'due by' date, I saved myself 85 pennies in interest.

It all counts :T and I'm a little bit less in debt than I thought I was :)

  • Well, I popped out for a short walk and thought my luck was in when I spied a penny on the pavement, I was about to reach down for it... but alas! it was nothing but a piece of well-trampled pink chewing gum :(

I might need to make a trip to the opticians... :o
Keeps happening to me with bits of penny sized cardboard! Not sure what they are off but there are loads outside our local shop (which is a great place for finding pennies and more).
My OH is well trained now, a youth dropped a coin, looked down told his mate it was only 20p so he couldn't be bothered picking it up, my OH was straight over to do the job for him. (As soon as said youth had gone round the corner!).

Haha, Tabby, glad to hear your OH has his head screwed on right. Not sure what's going on with the penny-sized bits of cardboard outside the shop, very suspicious, it sounds like someone's trying to throw you off the scent! ;)

    Sacrilege!!

Oh drats. The only penny Mr Merle has left on the table today is one that's been squashed through one of those picture-on-a-penny machines and now has a Tron bike on it. Oh well.

Managed to get a penny back at the card shop today, not for a lack of trying on the shop assistants part!!

Cost 99p, gave her a £1 coin, she handed me my card in a bag and shut the till. Me - Can I have my change please? Her - drew me a dirty look, opened the til and gave me my penny back:eek:

Maybe she is on this forum as well, keeping my penny for herself lol!
Can't think of anything smart to put here...

Probably banger-type small fireworks. Party Poppers leave 2p sized bits of cardboard.
Thank-you to everyone who posts comps
