    Hey All,

Can I join the campaign to capture those crafty coins please?

I have just emptied my purse in to my new penny prison (coffee jar) and I have 179 pennies and a 5 cent coin.

It does sound so much nicer without the £ sign!! I think I may look at my savings in terms of pennies. My debts might be looked at as £'s though, I think I will have a heart attack if I convert it to pennies!

Pennies escaping at an alarming rate at the moment, my purse is very empty. Once the New Year is here those pennies had better be very afraid as they will be in lock down!!

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Lol love it!

I have four "penny prisons" - red metal post box money box (1p and 2p) - red metal phone box money box (5p) - light blue piggy bank (10p) - dark blue piggy bank (20p).

I intend to open them in Feb for OH's birthday.

  • I got 500 pennies in the post the other day!!!
It was with a request to do an ISOS reading survey.
Pocketed the voucher (£5 for 'love money' and can be used in lots of high street shops) and have put the survey aside to do tonight during X-Factor. Doesn't seem right not to do the survey when they've given me the money.
  • I mentioned to a friend tonight that I would be buying my niece an itunes voucher for Christmas. He then told me he had staff discounts he could use for me that would total 380 pennies! Nice little saving there.

I watched a film today... called 'In Time'.

    Quick Idea of the plot:
In a future where people stop aging at 25, but are engineered to live only one more year, having the means to buy your way out of the situation is a shot at immortal youth. Here, Will Salas finds himself accused of murder and on the run with a hostage - a connection that becomes an important part of the way against the system.

Basically everything cost time. A Coffee cost X minutes off your life, a bus ride etc. You could even borrow time and pay it back with interest. The film was average but made me think.... how something like that would make you think how you spent your money!

It reminded me of this thread!

  • Found 128 pennies roaming around in the bottom of my very untidy, and very large, handbag.

I am on the verge of deciding not to do the lottery any more - would save around 500 - 1000 pennies a week but does mean saying goodbye to the idea that "it might be me". I frequently get a small win but nothing over £70 so far.
Thank-you to everyone who posts comps

100 pennies discovered on the bathroom floor suspecting escape from OH uniform trousers ( btw to clarify this was in the shape of a pound , I reckon he might have noticed if 100 pennies had made a break for freedom :rotfl:)
