i put 1175 pennies into bed in my bank account yesterday, used the HSBC coin deposit machine and had SO much fun. How sad does that make me?

There's an HSBC coin deposit machine??!
  • Nora, YES! My OH is with HSBC and has long lauded it's miraculousness. Apparently you can put any old amount it in; I've yet to see it in action, hopefully I will soon though as my bank disinclined to accept my carefully bagged up change *...mutters incoherently..grrr* and he's going to bank it for me (not to keep, mind! :p). I'm seriously considering switching to them just for the change counter :rotfl:

PS. going to join you lot ;) After reading Woowoo's diary I realised just how much money could made picking up change lying around the streets :rotfl: First time I started keeping my eyes open properly I found 20p! Anyway, after a few months I'm into a few pounds-worth richer and reguarly horrify the OH by almost flinging other passerby's into the path of oncoming traffic as I rush to grab a shiny 1p off the pavement. Pennies really do add up :T x

oh yes Nora there is such a fabulous machine, similar to the coinstar machines but they don't take 7p+ out of every pound you put in there. my local branch doesn't have one but i've found the town about half an hour away does so i may just be getting there more regularly in future.
  • I bought a Thinsulate scarf in Millets today, for the bargainous price of 60p! It was actually in a box marked "everything in box - £3", but they only charged 60p.

I checked the original price when I got home and it should've been £7, so I saved 640 pennies. Not bad for a quick trip into town.

I am jealous of you lot, I did not save one single little penny this weekend. However, in my bank account this morning there is a refund of £300 from my energy supplier for overpayments :)

So that's 30,000 pennies back to me :j

Not a bad start to the week :)

I found 5 whole pennies on the street today. I nearly knocked someone over trying to get to it :o

It's in my change pot as I speak (type) and according to the lady on the street I need to 'Bleeping watch where I'm bleeping going' and I am a 'silly bleeping cow'.

I live in such a classy town :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
