I am not as disciplined as you Crunchy Nutter I try and do it with half the coins I have over in my purse every day........I am trying to get into better habits too
and this thread is great for that!
Hold off on calling me disciplined evie - we're only 4 days into the year :rotfl:
Seriously though this forum has been a great help to me so far in keeping me motivated - there is so much support and ideas here :TSearch for Crunchy's Debt Deletion Diary... Saved between 500 and 900 pennies by getting a HDMI cable from a Pound style shop as oppossed to the first place I saw one :j. We needed one, as someone bought us a nice new shiny, DVD/Blu Ray player for Christmas
.
Also caught 25 pennies lurking in my back pocket, into the Sealed Pot they went :T.

Go ahead and ask!Or, if your work's in the same position as ours - early pay in December making it extra long between paydays - get yourself in people's good books by saying 'I'm not going to remind people about whatever you owe for the Christmas buffet until payday because I know everyone's broke!' That way those who have the money on them might just pay up straight away and the others have been warned it's coming!
People's memories do slip, though, and whoever initially footed the bill can easily end up out of pocket.Miggy

Another 1000 pennies on fleabay and 20 pennies in the bottom of my wash basket! Get checking there people!April 2006 - owed just over £30k (the evils of relationship breakup!)
December 2011 - owe just under £3.5k!!!
February 2012 - owe just under £1900 (keep the overtime coming!)
May 2012 - owe £600...0 -
How sad am I - clearing under the seating in the hall in the hope the kids have dropped pennies! It's not that I need the pennies (that would be different, been there and done that) but I'm inspired by the stories of people finding pennies lying around!
Found some dust bunnies so far and - oddly enough - a piece of cauliflower stem that the rabbit abandoned the other day. Also a handbell which DD's drama class was going to use, a lemsip, some deodorant wipes, two odd shoes, a DVD cover, an umbrella case, lots of tools (which were there on purpose), a bike pump, a shin pad, a stencil, a phial labelled 'fragrance', a shopping bag, a keyring, a water pistol, a soft toy, a button, scissors, a pen and some seeds.
It's now swept out - but no pennies so far.Miggy

Hi Miggy - that sounds like the conveyor belt in the Generation Game! Was there a fondue set hiding too?!April 2006 - owed just over £30k (the evils of relationship breakup!)

Def ask for the money back. I know how you feel tho. The 250 pennies I found in my bag earlier were actually one person's contribution to the Nght Selter Christmas hamper we donated as a team, not the present as I originally thought.
It's easy for people to forget over the Christmas break but all the same, you could have ended up footing the bill. I'm getting quite good at chasing in advance now as it usually ends up me who sorts the present etc. If I hadn't chased up I would now be £46 out of pocket...Everything is ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end

Hi everyone
I'm finding this thread really amusing as everyone scrabbles in all the nooks and crannies to capture those pesky pennies.
Managed to imprison 21 pennies from OH's small change today.Every penny's a prisoner

Hello fellow Penny Incarsarators!
Not a bad day as found 64 pennies in loose change when out and about - now in a secure place!
Crunchy Nutter: I agree with your tactics. I try to carry no money with me at work as then I'm not tempted to waste it on a bag of crisps or bar of chocolate....yes, yes, I know purchasing the either of the latter is not a waste in some people's eyes lol :rotfl:
Miggy: So how many hundred metres long is this seat exactly?!!!
P.S. Can I have the water pistol please? lol
nu1isit?: Good Spot on the HDMI lead...need one myself, thanks.DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499
