Always find some odd pennies lying around at work, and have just remembered that the girls at work owe me for their share of the xmas buffet that we had on the last day. Do you think it's too late (or too cheeky) to ask them for it tomorrow when I go back to work? x:)
Hi miss empty piggy,
I agree with the others, you should mention this, and tomorrow is the ideal day to do it as it's your first day back. And I totally agree with how Miggy suggests you should mention it, give your collegues fair warning that you're expecting the buffet money either now or pay day (at the latest).
Well I haven't saved any pennies lately, but then neither have I despatched any :rotfl:so all is well I suppose.0 -

Only just discovered this thread...I love it! :T
I've captured 197 pennies which were in my purse awaiting liberation tomorrow at a vending machine (:o), another 257 that were having a party in an old unused current account and a sole, lonely penny sitting in my ISA.
They have all been apprehended and sent to high security (paid towards a CC).
I can't wait to start imprisoning more.
Our grandparents really knew what they were talking about with the 'look after the pennies...' business didn't they? How could I have had almost a fiver kicking around unnoticed? I love how this thread is changing my way of thinking about cash.If you know you have enough, you're rich.0 -
Hi
Found five lovely shiny pennies trying to hide in a dirty puddle of water yesterday. They were captured by the "Right Hand Gang" and held in temporary custody till they could be imprisoned when I got home.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
Out and about yesterday after work spotted what appeared to be 50 escaped pennies. Capture and interrogation followed, and although initially evasive, they soon broke under my relentless questioning. Currently undergoing solitary confinement in my coat pocket - will be sent to Das Pot this evening, along with 5p I just found outside work
Regarding HDMI leads, I have both a cheapo poundland one, and a £25 gold-plated lah-de-dah one - can't tell any difference in quality on a 32" HD screen. Only thing I would say is the cheapo one seems a bit flimsier and may be more likely to fall apart, so may not be suitable if you are going to be plugging/unplugging regularly.Search for Crunchy's Debt Deletion Diary... I have only just discovered these forums and 'seen the light'!
I have a piggy bank and will be emptying it soon, but adding 9 pennies to it now!
More to be added later when I have bought a bag of horsefeed and hopefully have some change left (found enough cash in my purse to avoid using my card).

Now that I'm posting on this thread I think I can be justified in adding the tag line to my signature!
I was sent an item from Ebay and when it arrived it arrived very late and with a 'postage deficient' sticker on it. It was posted anyway (I think the postman must have been feeling generous - or possibly annoyed because I'm never in when he calls), but because it was late I thought I might aswell let the seller know for future reference. I nearly didn't but I'm glad I did now because they have refunded me £1 compensation!
