Noticed my ISA (which is empty now) had 2p in which came from an interest payout a while back - transferred it to my current account, then paid it onto my TSB CC - most impressed that they accepted a payment for 2p

I actually laughed out loud when the confirmation came up on screen

Managed to wrestle 576 pennies back, this was with the aid of an A**a refund coupon :j. It can go towards the big shop next week then . Woo hoo :rotfl:.

Evening all

Just been sorting handbag and purse out ready to go back to work tomorrow and found 19 pennies lurking so they've now joined the rest in the small change jar.

Now just need to find some roadkill on the walk to work tomorrow:D

I have found it very useful going round the shops thinking of potential puchases in pennies it put me right off a few things over a tenner or more properly over a 1000 pennies!

Hi All, Seems I am a bit late but would still like to join in. I am currently on maternity leave and only able to make minimum payments on everything and the main goal is getting through the month on statutory maternity pay so this challenege is a perfect starting point for me. Hubby pays all household bills and mortgage, and the food, petrol and extras are down to me so am trying to save pennies here and there. Great thread x

its amazing how many pennies I actually see now! found 3 in the car, 5 in the handbag, 2 in my jacket pocket and 5 on my dressing table! all piggy banked! i've also been rounding up my transfers to my cc account so thats working out nicely too.

Another 1100 pennies liberated from my Green Metropolis account! I finally got rid of my remaining CDs and a few DVDs, now that my music collection is all digital. So that's another 3471 pennies from Music Magpie.

And I took back 2 books that I was given for Christmas, which helpfully had the receipt left in the back of one of them. Another 2781 pennies to add to the pot.
