Hello, I'd love to join you please.

I've just started my DFW diary and whilst the total owing is within my sights, the thought of saving spare pennies (and like you say, they are to be found everywhere) sounds much more manageable, with instant results. Love the idea of rounding up food shopping.

Each day can hold it's own penny saving success, a breath of fresh air from a debt total that holds significantly more zeros!
Everything is ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end:)

Can I join please? I dont think my recent penny catching counts as a good score. My oldest son always saves all his lose change. when his 3 pots are full he counts it all and I give him the notes! This time he had £30 in change and I have stuck them in my pots now but I've really cheated....I'll do it properly from now on. best wishes to you all for the year ahead.

I gave twelve £2 coins early release today. Used them to make an overpayment on my credit cards. Not done that in ever. This thread is very inspiring.
  • Just found a penny's worth of roadkill at work - that's another penny off my CCs :j

Well, so far I have 233 pennies. Found 100 on my bedroom floor this morning, so as no owner cam forth, that was the first thing in the pot. I vowed to put a £ in the pot for each lb lost, as I was horrified to discover yesterday that I had 11lb to lose, not the 4 I thought! The rest was gathered from around the house as I tidied the Christmas things away, not bad for the first day.

  • Hi

I'm new here but can I join please?

I owe 334000 pennies but have just transferred 99 "leftover" pennies from my current account to my "Every Penny's A Prisoner" account (Yes - that Halifax have let me save it under that name. Motivation or what?!) so I'm getting there slowly...
April 2006 - owed just over £30k (the evils of relationship breakup!)
    December 2011 - owe just under £3.5k!!!
February 2012 - owe just under £1900 (keep the overtime coming!)
    May 2012 - owe £600...

    I love it!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I've been reading this thread and wondering whether to join in until I found a penny trying to escape from the ground in S@insburys car park. I scooped it up and popped it in a money jar so I'm in!!

I also liberated 404 pennys from my papypal account which has just been sitting there for weeks. When it comes through I will transfer it to my 'Every Pennys a Prisoner' account (thats as long as Santandar will let me change the account name!)

  • ....My account is online banking and seperate from my main account so I can pretty much name it whatever I like...

I've also sold a couple of things on Fleabay today - grand total of 1200 pennies (not including p&p). Fingers crossed the others sell too.

I could get addicted to this...!

Managed to snaffle 150 pennies from Mr Empty Piggie's van floor this afternoon - put straight into sealed pot for our holidays! I'll need a few more than that, but every one counts! x
