Saved well over 100 pennies the past two days :j, they've gone somewhere bigger and better....my sealed pot :D. I may free the 50p hiding in my trousers tomorrow, it's only going to get wasted on 'junk' if it stays there ***cue The Great Escape music***:D :rotfl: :D.

Hope you've had a good day grabbing the pennies :j...

I take my bagged up money to my local shop, the guys there are always happy to swap me for notes :-)

They just weigh each bag on the fruit and veg scales, 355g is equal to £1 of 1p's and 2p's and 350g is £5 of 10ps,

See the kinds of things you can learn when you save pennies :rotfl:
Can't think of anything smart to put here...
  • This is ace!! Converting to pennies makes it seems so much more lol. I saved 250 pennies today Woooooooooo! :)

    Every Penny's a Prisoner
  • Captured 5 pennies that was lying on the steps on my way into work this morning. :j I did ask if it belonged to anybody, but as they couldn't categorically guarantee it belonged to them I refused to hand it over :)

Then as I was ratching through my desk drawer (I must tidy that up) I found another lost and lonely 5 pennies :T

10 whole pennies rounded up and placed under lock and key. My first prisoners for ages.

They do say everything comes in 3's. Hope the next find is a big one :rotfl:

I rather thought I had fallen off the penny-imprisoning wagon what with Christmas and all but the mention of F@rmfoods has reminded me... I can't usually go there but I did while we were away and there was my favourite Pep$i Max for 39p a small bottle... or 2 for £1.50. :D:D:D

It was only after I'd got out of the shop into some stormy west-coast weather that it occurred to me to check whether I'd been over-charged, but I don't know what I've done with the receipt so I'm going to have to put that one behind me and hope the pricing gives someone a laugh.

Whilst out and about today at work I found some change on the pavement...122 pennies! :D Thats a 50p, three 20p pieces, a 10p and a 2p.

I think they were let out by mistake by a drunken Christmas reveller but they have now been rounded up and are now under lock and key once more!

    Thinking of spending???..YNAB says "NO!!!!"

  • I am also doing the NSD challenge, and each time I have a spending day I then imprison all pennies left over in change. Makes me feel slightly better about not acheiving a NSD!

    I captured 29 pennies yesterday.

I may be getting slightly carried away though now as my penny prison is becoming a high security prison, with some of those silver master criminals getting sent down for crimes against budgeting!!

There is also the big golden boss still in hiding under my car seat. If I fail my NSD challenge this month then I am going to get the SWAT team in and flush out the 100 penny boss and bang him up for life!

    :rotfl::rotfl:

    That made me laugh :)

I'm doing the NSD challenge too and the weekly spend challenge - have a look at that one, it really makes you see where your 'cash in hand' disappears to. :)

  • I've just placed an order with Mr A for delivery next week and when I got to checkout they gave my a wee new year bonus of FREE delivery, so that's £3.00 saved or a lovely 300 pennies. :T (if I'd had my thinking cap on I should have chosen a dearer delivery slot )

Now I'm just hoping they substitute all my cheap smart price stuff for the expensive branded stuff :D
