Just cleared out / tidied bedside cabinet and found 11 Euro 80 cents worth of change..

Will have to keep in another secure area until I get an extradition treaty set up (or a foreign holiday!) with the Eurozone / EU:rotfl:

:rotfl: Loved this - have to make sure it's one way only though as don't want any of our pennies making it over there!

Just back from a few days visiting various family members and OH dumped all his coins on the table as soon as we got in - so 1 x 5p and 1 x 1p immediately got captured into the change jar.:)

  • I've started already - inspired, I logged into my online bank a/c, where I 'found' 229 pence - used it to make a payment on one of my CCs -every little helps :-)

That's the type of thing I did when paying off debt last year, and I'm doing the same now with my savings. Before, it would just have been spent on rubbish, but all those pennies built up over the course of the year and helped me become debt free at the end of November.

If anyone thinks "oh, it's only a few pennies", believe me, they can help you become debt free earlier than you planned.
  • Found 20p in roadkill whilst strolling about at work, then found another 5p just sitting there on the ground waiting to be claimed when I was locking up - 25p potted :)

180 (bullseye :p) pennies captured and banged up following Mr S's drunken stumble round the house after 'celebrating' New Year rather too thoroughly

Yesterday I went visiitng and whilst blethering on to my exMIL, I was telling her that I had decided to save all the 50ps I get in a sealed pot and open it in December to spend on Christmas. She disappeared and came back with a savings tin type thingy that I'll need a can opener to break into and then went around the room shaking it at people and demanding any spare 50p's - I should point out that there had been much alcohol partaken at this point :o

    I made 200 pennies. :)

I was very embarrassed as people were heading to the pubs after her house and really only had notes and kept trying to stuff them in as well :o People are much more generous after a little drink or two :)

It was all a bit embarrassing and I felt like the local 'worthy cause' but as it's only 4 x 50pennies I'll live with it :)
