Ah, I see that cheapskate58 has already received one. How's it going?

One question. The specs don't mention if the SCART can do RGB. I would think so, but could you confirm please.
  • It's not going at all at the moment!. My Panasonic Freeview box decided to pack up last night. I bought it from Argos about 11 months ago and have spent the last couple of hours trying to find the receipt but I can't:mad:

So going to have to bite the bullet and get a new one. I've been looking around and will probably settle on the Digihome PVR80 for £95 from Argos.

The LG plasma is just sitting quietly, looking gorgeous:D

tichtich - the set has two scarts, although the instructions don't say if they are RGB. I'd be very surprised if at least one wasn't RGB, given its other connectivity options.

Are they quite safe to use , have one on a monitor and it sometimes makes an electrical buzz if i happen to move it in the slightest

Maybe it's not connected tightly enough. Anyway, I think its a standard kettle lead on this so a replacement shouldn't be a problem if neccessary.

Sorry to hear about the fried digibox. Can't you try the TV out on analogue? Or is its analogue tuner not UK-compatible? How about trying it with a DVD?

Btw this website makes intresting reading EDTV Plasma vs. HDTV Plasma

I think this LG is worth it because there is not much HD programs out there at the moment , plus even if there was then there is only a 20% picture improvement.

Standard pictures then this LG tv would be better then an HDTV TV :)

Would be great if you could give a review in picture quailty if possible cheapskate ;)

Well, I just couldn't resist the temptation any longer. I went ahead and ordered one.

I can't remember if it's been posted here already, but you can use "yahoopix12" as a promotional code for a £12 Discount. That made the total for me £548.10 with standard delivery. (I forgot to use Quidco or Rpoints. Silly me.)

Yep, you've lost all of a few pennies on the Quidco, but saved a fortune otherwise. I'm letting mine run in slowly and gently. I understand that 200 hours of use is necessary before the thing is running properly.

I nearly cried when watching the first couple of DVDs - they were awful. However, over time it has calmed down and is really looking quite fantastic with DVDs - I'm using a Panasonic DVD via component BTW.

The internal terrestrial decoder is pretty good but Freeview isn't too hot. However, my trusty Panasonic Freeview set got fried and I'm using an old OnDigital box that I fished out of the loft so maybe that is the reason.

I'm gonna reserve all judgements until this beauty has at least 200 hours of use under it's belt - yet for £550 odd that I paid I'm still feeling pretty good right now:D

It looks really pretty for such a large TV. However, don't think you can view it close up - you do need the space to justify having one of these;)

Well I am still waiting for this TV. Done a fair amount of ringing around this morning.
The TV is held at Medway Parcelforce depot and has been since the early hours of the 3rd. Its restricted that's why it has not been delivered. Parcelforce will contact me to pick it up.
Emails flying back and forth with Pixmania. They are starting an investigation!?!
I really do not want this TV now after it has sat in a Parcelforce depot for 4 days.
Still want the TV but not this one.

  • When I look at LCDs and plasmas of the same size and from the same source, plasma looks the better picture quality to me.

LCDs give the picture a harsh look. A friend has just got a Sony 36" LCD Bravia (?) and even DVD from HDMI looks over sharpened.
