Marru - I must get those weddingy things to you perhaps we should meet up (probably next weekend now) at say Becketts Farm Shop at Wythall as they have a nice tea shop there?
I got quite cross last night - I was tucked up with a Jonathan Kellerman book and I started reading it and two pages in remembered that I had read it before (only 2 months' ago too). Well all my Jonathan, Faye and Jesse Kellerman books have now gone to the charity shop. My boxed set of Morse books have gone too, plus an odd Morse not in the set. A teach yourself Spanish CD and accompanying book have gone too as well as some clothing. They pleaded for men's clothes (I havent really got any of them) and DVDs so I have taken a bag of about 30 or so (I was too lazy to magpie them and cannot be bothered to carboot them as I do not have the time). I am having some time out before I crack on - I am sure I can find something else for the charity shop and they have asked for furniture so the blanket box can go and the bookshelf/filing cabinet unit that I use in my office can also go but they will have to collect these. I plan to use the built in wardrobe to store office things.
I have been listening to the awful news about the villages up by Aberystwyth today being flooded out. I do hope the high tide is not too high and doesnt add to the 5ft of water already there.0 -
Horace, you are very kind but I am all set and don't need anything. Except if you want to meet at the Beckets farm I happen to have a bin bag full of bubble wrap looking for a home.
MG I will get back to you about the press later this weekend."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Cool thanks - bubblewrap is what I am short of and I have a load of glassware to box up (I am addicted to glass). Next Saturday would be best for me to meet at Becketts.0

I have had some good news this afternoon, mum rang me to say that the money was now out of the ISAs etc and now in the bank, she will speak to her solicitor on Monday and money can be exchanged for keys and a house:cool:
I need to be up sooper early tomorrow (no sunday lie in for me), we are off to Dun*lm to buy some blinds in their sale as my aunt told mum she picked up a lovely blind for £6 in the sale. So I could have blinds in the kitchen, bathroom and loo.:cool:0 -
Yay for good news Horace and oooh at a trip to Dunelm (I am not allowed to go anymore as I get lost in there drooling over things I don't need but want, want, want)
Roof leak has temporarily stopped and roofer has been to have a neb and decided not to go up in the howling gale but almost certainly a flashing or ridge tile problem which in his words "easy to fix and won't cost much either"for having good local tradesmen who don't rip you off.
Tonight is more report writing woohoo especially as there is absolutely nothing on tv.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

I have finally managed to empty the freezer in the shed and fit everything into the one in the utility room, so am busy defrosting. I have also inventoried the contents... Next stop meal planning
Actually, next stop tidying the kitchen and utility so that I start cooking properly again. In theory, as decorating has stopped for the moment, I can put things back where they belong...
I have 500g of turkey mince out of the freezer. I'm looking for inspiration for tonight's supper and something that can go back in there for another day. I have chillies, red pepper and onions out of the freezer. And frozen coriander. Maybe some kind of spicy mince/meatballs for tonight. Then perhaps mixing it with onion/tomato/tofu and some spinach/ricotta mixture (have both in the freezer) to make up some small lasagnes... But other ideas are welcome...0 -
Hi ladies, not a particularly MSE day but we were making some memories that will last a lifetime. An amazing day in London - the morning watching the Trooping of the Colour rehearsal (just like the real thing but minus the Queen & royal princes). A truly amazing morning with sights and sounds to treasure.
We then did some errands whilst up there, and as it was so nice finished with a river trip (DS's request for some time now) - weather was perfect, and DH's own stories brought the commentary and trip into colourful focus for us all. Something we may not have done before, and it was very much a seize the moment and build a memory. DS had a ball, and we had time to talk, and a plan is emerging...
Dinner, laundry, and then some figures are in order!
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0 -
Sounds like positive plans are brewing left, right and centre this weekend Moam. Good luck hon.
Had a day of writing (loads and loads) , making pizza with the boys and then making a present of chive vinegar for a friends birthday....... best of all had a visit from a pal which meant a lovely break with coffee and chats -Yay!!!

Have to announce that at 7.23pm this evening it finally stopped raining - has been pretty much continually since Tuesday evening - hence floods. The sun made a brief but welcome appearance before it was shrouded in gloomy clouds again. Thankful we live on mountain and not in a valley at the moment although the underground stream that passes through our garden is fair thundering at the moment - sounds like it could blow like a geyser !Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Hope you haven't had a "rupture" during the night Igamogam - I saw pictures of Wales in the rain yesterday -and frankly it looked like Scotland does, grey, dreicht and sooooo much rain falling. Hope you get some respite now.
One sleep to my birthday and still beavering away. Got a "crafty" and "Writey" day planned - need to sew up a quick crayon roll as DS2 has got a birthday party ................ but I can do it on my super duper completely overhauled Singer!!! YAY!!!
It arrived back home yesterday with my Mum - the guy in the shop says he has rarely seen a machine that has done so much work.
But my Mum got it for her 21st and is now retired - so it has sewn so many things in its life. Now it is ready to sew some more - Yay!!
Busy busy busy
