I am off to watch my friend's daughter take her place in the Olympic torch relay today - just checked the weather, better take a brolly and sun glasses as the outlook is mixed.
We are all very excited, and she gets to keep her torch as a reminder of her day.Sealed pot Challenge 2011 member No 1241 - Final total £154.21

Yay!!!! claudiac - how fabulous that you have a "connection" like that to the relay.
Fingers crossed that her bit is the sun-specs rather than the brolly

I saw the cosmo thing on FB yesterday as one of my social meedja friends posted the link as she has entered her own blog. Cosmo is for dreamers - I agree that their questionnaires are a bit bonkers and their foreign mags are quite funny with adverts for things like disposable toilet seat covers that you can use in public loos so that you don't catch anything
It is very gloomy here, with wind and rain. I am bored with the rain now.
So far today, I have emptied the bin, washed up and sorted out some papers including my certificates after I found my wedding diploma lurking on the windowsill. The office windowsill is now clear - I even found a CD lurking at the bottom of the pile.
Suppose I had better sort out some more stuff - I am getting bored with the packing already.
Hope everyone has a fabby day.
Crickett -instead of trying to print out the order of service - just print one and take it to a local printers for them to copy as it will be cheaper and less stressful to do that.0 -
Horace - our local Web Angel is asking if you have a linkie to a "Nominate Button" cos he's like to throw one up.
In the meantime I think I have conquered my "Technology Demon" and things are beginning to work - fingers crossed it is all still A OK after a cup of tea.
What a gloomy day outside - looks like February not June

Crickett - Horace is right. Printing at home is expensive, and local printers are used to doing orders of service at the last minute, as funerals don't tend to be planned very far in advance.
Better finish my packing and get going. I don't think the journey home will be much fun0 -
MEh!!! Just run the guantlet of the car insurance quotes.
So far I am £38 down on my car renewal quote - which I guess with careful shopping is nearly three weeks food - but boy!!! this gets harder every year

Good afternoon
A productive day here, downstairs has been cleaned, AF order delivered and put away,
Toffee cookies are in the oven, chocolate muffins waiting to go in. May do cupcakes in a bit too.Boiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Thanks for the advice ladies re printers. However, we have a brand spanking new printer upstairs, and it behaved itself admirably. All items printed off, and it didn't even cost that much because all the copies came off the inks that came with the machine!
Have collated the orders of service and I am now putting ribbon around them to secure the pages in place. It is looking very professional, if I do say so myself!
Plus, it has kept me occupied!
In less than two hours I will be having my hair cut... YAY!!Oh, and I heard from the agency and I have an appointment with them on Wednesday to get all my paperwork filled out ready to start with the Audit Commission. I need to talk to my paperwork fairies so I can find all the proof and evidence they need to see!! But that is a job for next week!
Have a fab weekend everyone. Lots of love and positive vibes..."A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -
Sorry, I have been packing - I can now see the windowsill in my office and can see metal shelves (ok one shelf is half cleared of junk) what is left on the shelves is already boxed and ready to go except for the books on the top. I can also see the floor.
I have had a viewing - the agent was rather nice but the prospective tenants were rather snooty as the female of the group was very sniffy because I have stuff piled everywhere. She moaned about the fact that my flat was an unfurnished flat but the agent said that the LL may put furniture in. She was most miffed about the fact that the LL provided fridge is just a fridge without an icebox. The agent did like the fact that I mentioned various shelving that I had put up as there is a distinct lack of storage here, and I even mentioned that the flat came with a shed (something the LL always omits to tell people).
I shall find the nomination link - should I post it here or do I post it on the other side?
Looking at the page for the nominations again although I entered the blog for the Next best newcomer award, maybe the food section would be better?

Well the torch relay went very well, though it was over for us in a short time - she took off with the torch and bombed down the hill - leaving us standing! Her dad was so choked up with pride, it was lovely to see. And we all got great pictures to remember the day. And the rain stayed off which was good.Sealed pot Challenge 2011 member No 1241 - Final total £154.21
