It is a wonderful day - the sky is grey but my heart is bathed in sunlight and warmth. I cannot even start telling you how pleased I feel that I finalised a very large and high visibiluty project I have been leading for the last two and a half years. Just saved and closed the last document related to it.

It is extremely interesting research and we (the team included top academics from several disciplines from around Europe) managed to carry out very innovative research and our friendship and intellectual affinity grew. Perfect! And I have already published an article in very high prestige journal - highest even for scientists, really.

Sorry to brag, but I feel so, so pleased.

Today is also our wedding anniversary (of course I forgot and MrF remembered). Nineteen years spent with the man who totally completes me.

Congratulations Gemzie, will call you Mrs Gemzie ;)

Has it sunk in you are married or still feel a little unreal?

It doesn't feel any different yet, I think once we start changing bank details etc. (official stuff) and I'm back at work with my new name it will!

    and Gemmzie

Lots done in the garden this weekend to make sure we have supplied in the summer, plus my own super store cupboard tidied and audited. After all these years without kitchen cupboards having some storage is just lovely.

Happy Anniversary to MrF & Firewalker
    Congrats to Mrs Gemmzie too.

I watched the concert last night and have spent the day watching the various celebrations on the telly - I have vaguely looked at packing. One thing that I have done is sort out some quotes for moving - I looked at Pickfords and nearly fell off my chair. I need also to contact the chap that Marru recommended. Am thinking that it may be far easier to have a professional move than some chumps with a van (yep I did call some of my chums chumps:rotfl:).

This soft a'pporth has spent most of the day blubbing - blubbing because I am proud to be British.

Suppose I had better sort out my bedroom floor which has become a dumping ground for clothes..sigh..I really can't be bothered.

Schoolwork firmly decluttered and I have a utility room back :)
Am going to [STRIKE]dump[/STRIKE] place it all carefully in my classroom tomorrow and do 15 mins on it per day from now on - none of it is in the least bit essential so it can wait its turn.

Dd has just won a competition at mothercare world so dh has zoomed her off before closing time to see what she has won (she is so overexcited and it will probably be something for a toddler:rotfl:)

I am off running (well trying) and it is pouring down which is good as I might not turn quite as purple, off to put the scaffolding on:eek:

Great news Marru - well done on getting the job, you're going to be busy with all that packing too

Congrats FW on finishing your big project as well as the anniversary - double celebration :D

Glad all went well Gemmzie and you enjoyed your day.

Getting quite cold here now tho' the promised rain hasn't come yet. Not done much today - bit of cooking and putting clothes away and hand washing... hurt my back so can't do much, waiting to hear from the physio which will be ouchy but help :p

Congratulations Gemmzie and FW and Mr FW.

I had a peaceful afternoon. The loch formed by the dam is far bigger than I expected and so I walked one section briskly, then back to the car for a cuppa and a grandstand view of approx 20 swans a-swimming. Later on I'm going to pot up wild strawberry plants, which a friend gave with the warning to confine them to pots - her garden was taken over by them. There are lots of flowers, so I'm hoping they'll set into tasty little red jewels.

Tomorrow a friend is coming to visit, Thursday is housework and errands day, and Friday I'm out for lunch, then hosting a birthday afternoon tea party for a friend. Saturday out for a morning cuppa with another friend, and Sunday getting ready for going back to work.

I'm so much more relaxed and happy in my new abode. I liked where I was before, but as well as the need to downsize, in the old house my marriage failed, another relationship played out its course over several years, and I spent a long time seriously ill. It's so good to have left all that behind!

Hugs to you Crickett - I hope your day has gone as well as possible.
