Crickett, just wanted to offer my condolences to you and yours.

I had a mad crying session yesterday after hearing a song that my mum loved when we were younger...but today its just made me think of how lucky I was to have a fantastic mother in my life!

Thank you all for such lovely comments and your vibes and positive thoughts. It has made a HUGE difference to us all.

We went to Mass this morning and I managed to cantor Mass and sing solo. It was very, very tough, but apparently, I was note perfect. With a hefty hint of vibrato I think! :D It is Pentecost today, and a very important feast day. The music was so appropriate as well (purely coincidence!) One of the hymns was played at Mum and Dad's wedding (cue tears). Another of the hymns was one of my Dad's favourites (oh heck... more tears) and the final hymn was played at my own wedding. Cue more tears. No tissues left in the environs of this house, let me tell you. It was very moving, but very cathartic. And even the Bishop had been told about my Dad, and he came up and gave me a massive hug. It was like being hugged by a bear! :D So nice.

I have three families. My proper blood family; my church family; and my Matrix family.

Thank you to you all. Again. :A:

I've been away for the weekend, so my condolences to you and your family Crickett. How wonderfully special yesterday was.

I was today attacked by my ex's new partner because I didn't let DD keep the photos of her with her dad in my house. She called me a cow in front of DD. Now all you separated people with kids and new partners out there, would you have pictures of your ex partners in your house?

congrats on the job offer Marru and am sure you will get two more ;)

My DH (although we are not yet married) still has pics of his ex but they are stored in a drawer with pics of his daughters, which I do not object to. I would not want him to put pics off his ex up on our wall but if his daughters lived with us and chose to put pics of their mam and her new husband up in their room, I would not object. Purely because it is difficult enough for kids having to live with their parents being separated and with new partners. By showing this compassion and understanding that a picture could be kept in their bedroom where I would not see it on a regular basis, I think it would keep the children happy and make for a peaceful home.

But you get people out there who are ony thinking of themselves not the kids! as sounds like your ex's new girlfriend!
  • Crickett I am so sorry to hear about your dad.

Sounds like church yesterday was just what you needed - and I am in awe that you managed to sing, and sing so well under the circumstances!

Lots of love to you all x

I now have a new basic master pattern for sewing stuff.

Where once I was a buxom hourglass - and am now a busty rectangle (and not the apple I though I was)

Still - no odds I now have the perfect pattern to adapt to my hearts content - bring on the party frock.

This is what I am aiming for http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/cinch-you-asked-dress

But it will be "fit n flare" from the empire line under the bust rather than tight around the torso (if that even makes sense) LOL

well I went to a wedding on Saturday and although I still fit into a dress I wore about 7 years ago for another wedding, it was very tight around the stomach and looking at the photos, compared to Wembley last year, i have put on a hell of a lot of weight!

See I get dressed and don't look in the mirror, it is seeing photos of myself that make me realise it really is time to start exercising!
