Love and prayers Crickett, to you and your family and friends. I hope you can all find peace and quiet remembrance,

Thank you so much for all your kind words for Crickett - and for letting her know that we are all here for her.
You are a very special group of ladies

You need a second person?!
MG, you were a stage manager: be a little inventive!OK, it's not 100% possible to do everything yourself, but say for filming recipes you could do the bulk of it yourself. If I remeber correctly, Jamie's 30 Minute Meals were mostly wide shot of him from a few feet away, with a few close-ups. You could easily do something similar by setting up the camera on a tripod (real or invented - a big pile of books or whatever) at an appropriate level, then filming all the wider shots at that angle, then you would need to film all the close-up shots (might be harder depending on what you are doing/how many hands you need/camera angles.)
It would need a bit of planning before you start in order to do it the most efficient way/take the least time and ingredients, but it can be done. Just remember to have light behind the camera, not the subject, look at the camera when speaking, be as natural as possible and that if the worst comes the worst, unlike the theatre, it's not live and it can be redone.(Editing is most likely to be the hardest bit, but I'm pretty sure there are free programs online for doing that.)
Best of luck!
P.S. I would gladly help, were I even vaguely in the neighbourhood! x0 -
I'm no expert MG but I can point a camera towards a subject, If you want a hand.
Crickett, I was really very sorry to hear about your Dad - I'm thinking about you & your family....Debts 07/12/2021

I know nothing about filming sorry
I do know I am in a house with two nangy children - one fell off a climbing frame at a friends barbecue and eurovision party and has a sore back, leg, arm, toe, finger (he is absolutely fine btw just rehearsing for an oscar!) and the other is just 10 going on 14. Today I think we may have a lazy day -well they will, I am going to attack the garden as I can't see my feet when I hang out the washing anymore.
If they are feeling more human later we might go to one of our lovely local free garden centres - we have a load round here and ds loves running in and out of the playhouses, looking at all the fish and jumping on the crazy paving, dd likes making plans for our garden and then maybe an ice cream. Very MSE afternoon.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Cricket, I just wanted to send my thoughts and sincere condolences too. It is wonderful you are able to be positive. My thoughts were exactly the same when my Grandad passed last year. We missed him but knew it was right for him. Thinking of you and all your family. Best wishes xxxOne step at a time0

My condolences to you and your family Cricket. My heart sends you a big hug.
MG, I reckon you could knock up a video. As said earlier, set up some kind of tripod, and I'm sure that clever Big Boy of yours could lend you a hand?
Those biscotti over on your blog look yum, I'm loving the latte challenge.0 -
Thank you all for such lovely comments and your vibes and positive thoughts. It has made a HUGE difference to us all.
We went to Mass this morning and I managed to cantor Mass and sing solo. It was very, very tough, but apparently, I was note perfect. With a hefty hint of vibrato I think! It is Pentecost today, and a very important feast day. The music was so appropriate as well (purely coincidence!) One of the hymns was played at Mum and Dad's wedding (cue tears). Another of the hymns was one of my Dad's favourites (oh heck... more tears) and the final hymn was played at my own wedding. Cue more tears. No tissues left in the environs of this house, let me tell you. It was very moving, but very cathartic. And even the Bishop had been told about my Dad, and he came up and gave me a massive hug. It was like being hugged by a bear!
So nice.
I have three families. My proper blood family; my church family; and my Matrix family.
Thank you to you all. Again. :A:"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440
