Congratulations MG!
I'm online in the local library. No broadband at home - phone is still connected, but a call centre operative in India told me my broadband service is not activated yet - and had nothing to say when I said it had been working fine for over a week... but apparently they are 'changing some circuits' in the local exchange and I'll be phoned with a status report on 22nd.
So, I'll catch up with everyone when I can!

MG, I can't tell you how excited I am that you won the prize - I even got a bit leaky eyed
.
Sorry I haven't posted for aaaaages, life has been a bit hectic. I have managed to chomp through a huge frog and it is a big relief. I have also won a battle to be referred to a specialist in my particular condition (they are very rare) and he has agreed to have me at the hospital where he is based for 2 weeks for intensive therapy. Am now sending messages to the universe so that the PCT in my area agree to fund the treatment.
I still haven't managed to get the adaptations to my car right and I've not been able to find anyone with my condition who has similar needs so that's a bit frustrating as I really would like to be more independent than I currently am.
Now that I am getting things moving in the right direction I am finding myself a little scared about the blank canvas I have in front of me on which to design my future. Hmmmm!
Horace, sending you lots of vibes for exchange and completion on your house.
Dorastar hope you feel much better very soon.
Crickett, it's great that you're sounding so much happier. You are very much on your way.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -

Had an amazin 90 minutes when three things all came into my life - possible work, some ad stuff for the blog - and this:
http://www.helpmetosave.com/2012/03/write-on-finance-blog-up-leeds-competition/
Yup!!! Remember earlier in the week when I wrote the wrong competition entry and had to start again at the last minute?
WELL I ONLY WENT AND WON IT :j:j:j
I am going to a cool Blogger conference and they are putting me up in a cute hotel. So chuffed - and hoping that we can arrange a meet-up in Leeds on the 21st of September.
Proof from the Universe that I am on the right track I think:T
MG
PS Horace - will do the cushions covers tomorrow - if you like them you can have them. How many do you need for you new home?
Marru??? Can I make your garter please?????? I used to dress drag queens I haven't made frilly stuff in ages :rotfl:
4 covers are needed - I guess I had better find something to measure the cushions with, they are just a standard size and square. (drat I cannot find my tape measure nor my ruler). thanks awfully - you are sooo kind.
My bosom swelled with pride today as I watched the Queen's Jubilee thing on the tv this morning - my friend's son was interviewed by the beeb and he looked amazing in his dress uniform and likened his decision to lying on a grenade to being naughty as a child, I know his mum is immensely proud and was probably at Windsor Castle today too. Why do I always blub when they have a fly past? It is always the same...call me a saddo.
Spoke to soon to be ex OH (he will be ex on Monday:j) and as usual wormed my way around talking about money so I said that I had booked my car in for service and MOT as it needs doing but I hadnt got any cash to pay for it, I gave him my bank details and he is going to make the first instalment this week (hopefully today), I didnt tell him when the car is in for service though. This first instalment will be used on clearing my Visa card for good, clearing my overdraft, paying for car service, insurance and tax, some will go into my business account to pay for my FSB membership and the rest will go towards house things and savings. Just think that in 6 weeks and one day after my nisi I can apply for an absolute and be rid of him altogether.:j I will also be able to pay for proper removal peeps instead of scratching around trying to do it myself.
I have started thinking about carpets as I loathe the green carpet in the living room of the house (it is very 1970's and really garish) so I might get a new carpet for that room and get lino for the bathroom and loo to replace the carpets that are in there. I know it is not very MSE.
Congratulations on the win MG - must admit that I love winning stuff. I usually win stuff via Twitter - the last being a whole load of useful stuff from my local police force. I also like Leeds and remember spending a few days there last year when I attended a conference at the Royal Armouries, I did question my sanity when I decided to walk from the station to the Royal Armouries by the side of the river as it was quite a lonely trip and anything could have happened but I was quite safe and I walked back too when the weather was much brighter. I stayed in the Holiday Inn Express nr the Royal Armouries and it was jolly nice.0 -

Busy day today and it is not finished, came home to pack overnight bag and heading out again shortly."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

I skipped the whole Olympic torch thing today but OH saw it and held it outside his work.
I'm having the time from hell with my neighbours currently so not around much, sorry. Could definitely do with some positive thoughts for them to move on!No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Hi ladies - have had a busy, tiring but absolutely fab afternoon at the school fayre. Weather was warm and dry and the kids had a blast, and we raised a good bit of funds to boot.
Chilling with a cool drink before unloading the car (have some leftover unsold items to sort out - most will go to the local charity shop). I'm filthy grubby and so is DS, so a long soak needed, with gorgeous indian food from the fayre and trashy TV later.
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0 -
Exhausting few days... Home on Tuesday, OH here until I went for massage on Wednesday (sports massage, not nice stuff!), reflexology, waxing and bed delivery (thanks for the suggestion Moam, it's perfect!) on Thurs, plus bits of decorating being done. Luckily the bed arrived before my dad... Spare room window and blind cleaned (wooden venetian blind, serious grubby) and curtains put up. My dad brought my bedroom curtains so those are up too.
Car service on Friday (needs a new lock on the drivers door), cousins here for lunch with my dad.
Today took my nephew and dad to the zoo, then picked up dry cleaning (hem down on the skirt so they kept it and it will be ready on Tuesday... Good thing I checked and have a spare as I'll be in Sofia on Tuesday, not sure why they don't check when they clean things), came home and started on the garden! My dad had brought down masses of sweet peas that my mum germinated for me... I gave some to my cousins yesterday and to a friend today but still had loads. So dug up lots of weeds at the back of the garden, moved some poppies and aquilegias back there, dug paeonies out of the front lawn and moved them too, put up a second sweet pea wigwam, planted sweet peas round two wigwams, weed killed half of front lawn. Then had supper during phone calls to my mum and OH. My dad has gone to Devon, so at least I didn't need to cook tonight!
Think it might be time for bed with a hot water bottle or two... Tomorrow will be laundry, packing, a bit of work (email filing and sending my itinerary to those who need it) and more time in the garden dealing with the jungle at the back.0 -
Runs past the end of our street June 1st and up to the safari park (where it is having a party and our names are in the draw for tickets but not heard yet) will be nice to see it but would have preferred them to stage some events 'up north' as original bid said
Think they got around that by staging the football in different stadia around the country - is there a match in Liverpool?
We know 2 people carrying torch - looking at the list of people who are carrying it around our part of the country there seems to be a healthy helping of individuals who appear not to live here at all - thought that was a bit odd:cool:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
