  • Hi folks,

I've not disappeared of the face of the earth - I have been lurking but as I've got a bad arm at the moment I'm trying not to use computer/mouse unless absolutely necessary. If I don't use my arm at night I can just about get through a day at work - & I do feel I owe it to them to try - they do pay me, after all.

It's nothing major - either trapped nerve or sore muscley bits. But boy is it a pain...

    Hi ClootiesMum

I hope you don't mind me replying to your post.

I come across this kind of issue quite regularly in my job.

Does your job involve using DSE equipment? If so, you should have had a DSE assessment or review which would identify any problems and your employer would have to supply equipment or processes that will hopefully remove or reduce the pain.

If you have already been diagnosed with something that relates to the pain, ask your dr, consultant, medical professional for any advice on equipment or exercise that can be used/done at work.

Does it hurt at work at all during your working day?

Blimey I should stop right now! This is me working head popping out here!

If you need any further advice that I might possibly be able to help you please get in touch.

    Cheers

Who stole the sunshine? It is gloomy here and as a result my mood has slumped but it is being aided now by a bag of pear drops:D Pear drops cure everything:D

Nipped to the village this morning to pick up my prescription - this has resulted in another large box of eye drops to store in the fridge *roll eyes*, I wafted into the butchers on the delicious smell of cooking meat..he cooks his own chickens and today he had a special offer on home cooked roasted pork loin so I had 4 pieces (enough for two sandwiches), I came out with a beef & onion pie too. The trip to the health trainer went well and despite eating loads of chocolate, marzipan and homemade cake - I have lost weight:j

Vibes needed for some jobs please - have submitted my application to the sportscar chap who has a showroom near mum's as he is looking for an automotive service recetionist/advisor (I made sure I included the fact that I have not only restored a car but built one from scratch which means that I do know the difference between a knob end and a crankshaft:rotfl:). Vibes needed for another job (am awaiting the application pack) - this is a managerial post with a sight impaired charity so no chance of any discrimination there:D This job will be a little trek as it is quite far from me but I can get there by car, bus or train (although I would have to get the train to bham city centre and a train out because the Worcester train does not stop at my local station..sigh).

Hugs to those that need them today.

More hugs Igamogam - maybe there is a future in setting yourself up as an independent frog advisor for schools - consultant rates are much higher than LEA rates I have a few friends who have been made to jump ship and apart from having to do tax returns are raking in the £ from the very same schools they worked with before! Is worth a think about.

Sounds good but practicalities rule it out A) schools in this part of the world have no money - seriously and B) I would hate it!!!! I dont give advice....... I do IYSWIM. I did do the whole advisory teacher bit for the LEA for a few years and loathed every minute - I am very much a hands on person. Much happier in the classroom :)

Off with a stonking migraine to day. Wonder what brought that on:mad: Has given me some thinking time anyway...........

    Hi folks
Thanks for the update MG - perfectly timed, btw, I only had to add garlic but as I already have loads it's not an issue.

Will make that up tomorrow.. as shop on way home did not have chillies or ginger

Girlwith the sun - thanks so much. This has only appeared in the past week so I'm not too concerned - just sore. We do have DSE assessments & I'm lucky to have a decent area to work in but I think I've been peering @ screens too much recently with all the close spreadsheet work I've been up to. I went to docs this morning & it's my neck with the trapped nerve. So better posture - head up, shoulders back (but with a chest the size of mine it kind of looks like I'm bragging :o) and stronger than ibuprofen pills - and a bit more common sense.

    But Crickett - GO YOU......

Lara - break a match - rumour has it this will break the bad luck comes in threes spell (or at least, it does up here)

Anyhow - must pop off now as have a holiday to search for - we're off in a couple of weeks & can't make a decision.......

    Take care folks

    CM

PS - It wasn't an insult MG - DH & I love Extreme Couponing & DH is all for building a store in the garage if we could get these offers - so gettig him to have an Armageddon cupboard will be a cinch (especially since I'm alrady half way there with the toilet rolls - 25p per roll is my limit.......:rotfl::rotfl:)
