More hugs Igamogam - maybe there is a future in setting yourself up as an independent frog advisor for schools - consultant rates are much higher than LEA rates I have a few friends who have been made to jump ship and apart from having to do tax returns are raking in the £ from the very same schools they worked with before! Is worth a think about.

Today has been good - have avoided the AF site and since gping 'cash only' have managed to stay well in the black and ready to pay a big sum off the credit card once I've worked out what debits still need to go out before pay day.
    Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
    Emergency fund £1000/£1000
    Savings for big things £9017

    Well done Dora :)

I think AF probably only works really well if you have a budget specifically for it like MG. It works OK for me as I don't have to consider anyone else and can live on couscous and lentils if I want to :D

Yeah!!! -I am honoured to still be included Moam.XXX

You're are right greenbee - AF works for me because I have a special budget allocation for it, its part of our stategy and suits the way we eat.

Dora - Wahey!!!!! to going "cash only" this month - its quite an eye opener isn't it - but great news on throwing some cash at horrid cards.

Righto Clootie Missus - "fast food obsessed MG on speed":rotfl::rotfl: Just cos you phoned me and I was having cooking lessons on Skype:D

I LURVE a bargain - but when I watch the "extreme couponers" stock up just for the sake of stocking up it makes me a bit worried - at least we do eat / use the stuff in the Armageddon Cupboard....... I wonder about the waste.

    Morning Matrix.

Had another disturbed night but it was slightly less disturbed if you know what I mean. I was smothered in Vicks by my devoted husband (bless him!) so my ribs and back don't hurt quite so much as they did yesterday.

Hubby overslept today, so I have to get off my franny and take the woofer out for her walkies this morning. I REALLY don't fancy doing that... but I have to. I shall have a quick shower, get dressed and do so. Poor puppy has her legs crossed! :(

Got approached for a job at Oxford University yesterday. Hmmm. Not sure I want to apply for it, because the salary isn't really a step up from where I was, and Oxford is mucho more expensive than Snottingham. Need to think about it. I could do the job, and I would enjoy the job, but the money is a real issue. Interesting though. And exciting possibilities.

Right... plan for today is shower, walkies, brekkie for all, washing, ironing, dusting, counselling, dinner and bed. Seems achievable...! :D

Have a good day all. Lots of love and positivity.

Thank you matrix, it was because of you I got my lazy bottom out of bed early and got a sausage casserole going in the slow cooker for tea tonight and made myself some cous cous to bring into work for my lunch :)

Can't believe it's only Thursday this week has been so slow.

Checked the bank statement - GULP!!!

    What an expensive few days

    MOT
    Car Repairs
    Car Tax
    Usual beginning of month DD

But the spending has stopped - and I am still in credit, so time to start transferring every spare penny to the mortgage pot again last month was pretty darn slim cos of projected expenses)

Fingers crossed that MF HQ is now on an even keel - a careful shop and minimal petrol so should us back on track in a week or so.

woop! - a very quiet and sedate one - but we live to fight another day;)

    Morning All,
Progress on the misery front. Saw Doctor yesterday and he's refering me to rheumatology urgently. 1st problem is definately thyroid, which will take time to settle down at with correct doseage - I accept that.
Other things could be any number of things which apparently the rheumatologist is better qualified to test for and possible viral - I think that makes sense.
He's suggested I stay off sick for the rest of week and just rest and also that I keep a symptom diary.
Being an ardent fan of the spending diary, why didn't I think of that:mad:

So, being a bit more positive had very early night, got up early put tumble dryer on, had breakie and went back to bed:jgoing to do nice gentle things today. Plan the perfect dream, work on budget and try to get it so there's some wriggle room( following MG's tip of where we are today) and persue paint catalouges. Providing I don't use my hands too much that shouldn't tax me too much.
    Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942
    Buffer Zone 1; £84 -

Yay Marru! :j :j Hope you hear on the job front soon!

Good news on the car stuff MG, the blog is looking *great* too.

Hope you get better soon Clootiesmum :)

Well the funeral was nice and it all went as well as it could have. My poor Granda was so sad. He and my Gran had been married for 65 years. What an achievement, eh?

Unfortunately another family member has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is just a few years older than me. We are all devastated. Hope these things don't come in threes!!!!!!!!

Anyway, onwards and upwards today - work is well behind and dragons must be slayed (they are bigger and scarier than frogs) before mid-May

Just in case anyone is thinking that this asking the Universe lark doesn't work... holy moley, yes it does!

I spent a couple of minutes this morning (in the shower!) thinking that the Oxford job would be amazing if the money was right, and thinking that I need to ask the agent if there was any flexibility in the salary they are offering, only to later receive a telephone call from the agent. I asked her whether there was flex in the salary offer and she said "Oh yes, they can go up to £X0,000; is that okay?". The figure she quoted is the figure I was prepared to accept!! So, my CV is winging it's way off to the hallowed halls of Oxford. I will get feedback next week sometime hopefully.
