Belated Happy Birthday to you both - many more of them to you all.

Last nights salsa experiment was a hit I think - well this morning I have six 1 pint jars in the kitchen with the lids properly sealed after being in a water bath (So the clicky discs in the middle of the lid is pulled down nice and tight proving here is a vacuum) Will post the method later on today in Frugal Foods -

I didn't think it was too moneysaving -total batch was about £5 to make, but lookie:

    http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/#/Shopping/FindProducts.aspx?Query=doritos salsa

Now I figure that I have made 2.5kg for £5 - but it would have cost me about £15 to buy in the shops - that's not bad for a 10 minute simmer LOL

Today I have been taking stock and need to make some cleaners for using at home - I am down to the last wee squirts of liquid hand-soap and the window/glass cleaners need making up .............. so I guess I shall be doing my mad professor bit later LOL.

And the sun is out - so the garden is calling my name, so had better get a wiggle on

Belated Birthday Greeting Igamogram, hope you are OK. so many Matrix birthdays yesterday.

Woke up to a note from DS that his phone was stolen last night while he was out so a hectic morning reporting to phone company and all that. I have to do it as the contract is in my name. It is such a pain sorting these things out isn't it? though the chap on the phone was very helpful.
Bit brighter today so maybe it will be the day the rain finally stops

    Have a good day

what a lovely friend aesop :D we all need people like that in our lives. Now you have to keep it all looking lovely ;)

today hasn't been much good here either... I think OH might be at the end of his tether with his mother, but as his dad is still in hospital he needs to stay over most nights.

That's my problem! Keeping it like that! I will have to try very hard!

Sorry to hear that OH is struggling with his Mum, it must be very hard for him worrying about his Dad too.

Hugs Igamogam, happy birthday from one who shares your birthday xx

I had a very lovely day yesterday, DD and her school friend, OH and then a lovely girly chum came over for dinner and brought prosecco, flowers and her good self and DD and I cooked up a storm, lots of different dishes thrown together and it all worked beautifully. We had a late night, poor DD asked to go to bed at half 9! and despite the woeful lack of cake, maybe that's why I don't feel it was particularly 'birthdayish', it was a fabulous day, fit for me :)

Cake! That is what was missing..........will work on that today:rotfl:

Many thanks for your birthday wishes:)

Kitti and Cheery - belated birthdays greetings to you - I skimmed through the thread yesterday and forgot to post:o

Well surprisingly the smallbies did manage to get to sleep before 10 last night but the happy juice is still helping them bounce this morning! Have distracted dd by encouraging her to cook brekky (scrambled egg for ds and eggy bread for her)

A weekend of uni work planned as tutor is coming to do a mini assessment of how well I'm doing on Thursday and lets just say at the moment it's going to be a very short conversation - Matrixey positive get-on-with-it-Dora thoughts please.

Happy birthday Igamogam and Kittikins :T

I feel a cake or at the very least twinks' session coming on today to make up for the lack of cake yesterday :)
  • We are still feeling rather shocked, we've been notified of an unexpected sum of money heading our way which we can't quite get our heads around. It'll get us a lot further on our getting debt free journey.

So lots of playing with figures, but we have decided to fritter a tiny amount on some new glasses (old age has caught me at last - varifocals needed) and a boiler service, but the rest goes on debts.

Its just amazing, but amazing or not there are chores to do, and some Ebay listing required, and choosing a family film for later. Go get girl!
