Thanks Van...I was thinking of opening such an account when I move. Right now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place with regard to my current bank (ooh how I would love to claim back all their poxy charges) and to have a savings account. I may pop into Barclays next week to get some details as they have a branch in the village.
Just realised that I forgot to get something out of the freezer for dinner so I may have bacon & egg which means putting the rings on the cooker on or I may cook up some oven chips. Just wondering if I could cook bacon and egg in Mosky?
Fancy, I got packing tape but have no boxes...how dumb is that?
Dora - have a fab time with the party. As for technology failure I just love that..it takes me back to the good old days before the internet (I sound old). I remember a time when a computer filled a room and I was occasionally allowed to commune with the other universities using something called Janet which soon became Super Janet (from 1980-84). I can remember one of my old bosses panicking when the inernet went down at work because he kept his diary on outlook, he was mightily surprised when I pulled out a diary with all his appointments written in (I alway like to have a Plan.

Making and canning salsa - fingers crossed that I successfully manage to can it - following a US recipe with some tweaks from Pat at a yorkshire cook.

It is the basic account Horace, so no credit check, just an identity check, so as long as you are on the electoral roll at your current address you should get one no trouble.0

Horace, I don't like barclays, and they have been nominated one of the worst for CS but then others complain about LLoyds.
anyhow, was trying to research if this is true about photo id and you can apply online for savings accounts

Today I slipped quietly and gently into another decade. Not sure where the last one went but I am here with nothing added dyed or taken away - OK I admit I the occasional leg and underarm wax and follow my mother and aunts golden rule - moisturise
but otherwise its a case of WYSIWYG:D I intend to quietly grow into into my next decade and so far despite some joint niggles feel no older than I did 20 years ago! My mother, when she reached my age, was diagnosed with terminal cancer on her birthday and as we share a birthday it has made today a somewhat reflective one. She died exactly 6 months to the day later and I find it very strange that in 6 months and one day I will be an age my mother never reached. Have been out for a lovely meal tonight with OH and DD2 and plan for a quiet weekend.

I hope this next year brings you a lot of joy. Glad to hear you went out - everyone deserves to be celebrated. I hope today hasn't been too bittersweet. I'm sorry you and your Mum had to go through all that. ((((Hugs)))):A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -

Hugs Igamogam, happy birthday from one who shares your birthday xx
I had a very lovely day yesterday, DD and her school friend, OH and then a lovely girly chum came over for dinner and brought prosecco, flowers and her good self and DD and I cooked up a storm, lots of different dishes thrown together and it all worked beautifully. We had a late night, poor DD asked to go to bed at half 9! and despite the woeful lack of cake, maybe that's why I don't feel it was particularly 'birthdayish', it was a fabulous day, fit for me0
