I hate the provide a photo thing too - what can a photo tell them?

mine would tell them, I look like DS' grandmother, as people frequently ask me, and that I need a haircut and hair dye, as hair style non existent, and lots of white hair showing, and need to dye it, oh, and I should exercise more and eat less sugary stuff :rotfl:

My picture would show me scowling as I hate having my piccie taken or if you do have one of me smiling then I am without glasses and really I cannot see what is going on:rotfl:

I rang the auctioneers this morning and they are having another valuation day on 24 April - this means that I have to make some time as we found stuff in mum's garage that can be sold. A pair of wall lamps, a ceiling light but it has a pane of glass missing and some art nouveau candelabra one of which is a two arm thing that you hang on the wall and the other are singles which also hang on the wall. I am considering taking my late grandma (dad's side) fish brooch (as the guy from antiques roadshow told me - it is Victoriana at its grossest:eek:) and I have some jewellery that soon to be ex gave me that I rarely wear - a citrine pendant with matching earrings (I am not keen on the earrings because they are sharp at the back) and a little basket of flowers which are made up of different jewels - I rarely wear this and I may as well get something for it.

I wonder what else is in mum's garage that I can sell?
  • Well, I didn't make any glaring errors but I took a couple of minutes to make something up about going above and beyond my duty...My brain doesn't work when I haven't been at work for 4 months! :)

Thanks for the good luck wishes... I think they are more of an agency than actual employer so I'd need to go for an interview at any companies they put me forward for. So now the waiting game begins.

Gemmzie I totally understand where you are coming from re friends. Mine seem to have forgotten about me since I moved 20 minutes down the road. :(

Erm -no reply yet! Promise I will let you know as soon as I hear anything.

First day back at school accomplished - DS1 complained that it went too fast - also he dazzled them with some maths thingie (I suspect MrF's influence over the holiday rather than mine)

Now - need to rustle up the Spring Plan and start finishing some half started work projects.

Pyscho - agencies tend to ask for photo ID but no agency has asked me yet about my dress size (thank goodness as I vary between a very skinny 14 with a very loose waistband or a size 16).

Am back from Aldi and my shopping cost me £23 but my stores are replenished and I now have bread and other bits including some cheapo easter eggs - little eggs of marzipan..yum. I was also quite decadent splashing out on a collapsible washing up bowl that I shall use when I go camping - I have been after one for quite a while but have never found one that I liked or was relatively cheap. Camping will mean a cheapish holiday especially if I take my Cobb and my gas stove and cook for myself. See I have things planned even if I don't quite have the means at the mo:( I had planned to go shopping tomorrow but saw the forecast for torrential rain so decided that I would nip out this afternoon.

Rushed back home from work early just to make sure MG's letter had got there - mse blocked by school netnanny :(

Horace :) at the collapsible washing up bowl - I have one and I marvel at it every time we go camping much to dh's amusement - I just love the way it folds into its tiny pouch (I am that sad that I do this quite a lot when we go camping just to show him)

Today was work but only 28 working days till my next holiday so things are on the up! Love my job but have always found a need to count the days and enjoy mentally ticking them off.

  • Did the full drive home from work for the last time... and drank in every detail - I live in a stunningly beautiful area and have always particularly enjoyed the last 6 miles or so of the journey home - historic buildings and hills to the right, mountains and a beautiful river to the left. Shortbread tin scenery!

Mind you, this morning I went to work via the local dump - but even that can't drown out the visual spectacle that is Central Scotland.

Tomorrow afternoon I'm working in a different location. Wednesday I've two meetings in Glasgow, and then that's it till the second week in May! And a new and also beautiful drive to and from work.

Hugs MG! When you've recovered a wee bit, we would love an update.
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

I thought of the tears as a good thing. Not sure now though. Either way, a big hug MG.
