    Good news all round.

Am back from parents with a food parcel (secretly I think it is fab that dad is a fussy eater as I get the leftovers). In the parcel today: a very aged M&S lasagne (frozen), a small pork fillet, a small lamb steak, a piece of bacon (dad thinks they are tough so refuses to have them again), a bag of homegrown pears from the cold store (back of the garage), 2 bags of veg for steaming, 4 homemade cakes (like jam tarts but with sponge on top), 1 individual homemade apple pie. I was also sent home with £120 of which £20 is for petrol.

We had a rummage in the garage and found some light fittings that came from my aunt's, so I am having to ring the auctioneers to find out when their next valuation day is because we plan to put them into auction and get some money for the house. We also looked at the Dunelm brochure again and thought about paint colours. We are not buying anything else until we get the house.

I was asked to go and look at a house in the same road where the house is that we have the offer in on, this house is bigger and has recently been totally refurbished. Good job, I do as mum tells me because I noticed that the house we are trying to buy has been put back onto the market as the sold board is no longer up but a for sale board is, although on the agents website it states that the house is under offer. One wonders what is going on and I am really quite cross as are my parents - especially as mum was prepared to offer a bit more money to make it a round £87K for the carpets. She is going to phone the agent tomorrow to find out what is going on because nothing was mentioned to her when she spoke to them on Thursday.

Still no attempt by soon to be ex OH to contact me, I try to ring but he doesn't answer the phone - mum thinks he is mad because at this rate the court will award me more money. When I get money from him then I plan to pay my parents back for their legal costs. Hopefully I will have some left over for other stuff.
  • Interview tomorrow morning for corporate receptionist... very nervous and have a feeling my face doesn't fit what they are looking for. (their vacancy ad on an agency site asks for photo! application form asks for dress size).

Any tips on how to wow them? i've printed off what little info there is on their website to read and learn tonight, will refresh on the train journey.

PS been thinking about the letter all day!

I woke up this morning and thought 'it's sunday! letter!'... and I didn't even realise I'd been thinking about it that much :)

Well, I can just make sure I look my best... I can't help not being a size 0 and manicured to within an inch of my life, but that doesn't mean I can't look professional or that I'm not capable of doing the job. Argh.

OMG is that even legal? Makes me so cross - all the best for the interview, sorry no suggestions on how to wow them, 'fraid I'd want to empty a jug of water all over their judgemental heads. However I imagine I wouldn't even get an interview if I put my dress size! ;). PS probably best not to mention your MSE name either:rotfl:

I know, I want to tell them to shove it... but a job is a job, and I guess some kind of corporate work won't hurt my cv :) Better get some beauty sleep and hope it works miracles in the night, I want to wake up and look like.... Elle Macpherson!

Got a large gin and am heading for bed - can't stay up all night so will set the alarm to get up early and see how Yolanda has got on with her "secret Squirrel Mission" LOL

And psycho - trust me hon you look nothing like your handle would suggest - so go and rock the interview, imagine us standing behind you, arms crossed or slapping rolling pins into our hands and tutting loudly at them .................. don't know if that will help with the interview, but should give you a giggle when you think of us LOL

Good evening from Sweden; it is also my Easter (it is the Orthodox Easter today).

Have to tell you that one of he good things during MG's visit was that she consented to start putting on the other side instalments of a programme she has been working on. So, watch this space.

I am beat so good night. Loads to do tomorrow.

Enjoy Sweden FW ... Hope the weather has improved since I was there :) During a clear out this weekend I found some stuff you might be interested in, so will sort it out and let you know.

I apart from a couple of small piles of homeless clothes (I need to sort out my chest of drawers) my bedroom is looking lovely now. Possibly worth the upheaval :D I'm not finished yet as the curtains were originally meant for the kitchen so have to go back to be lengthened, shoes need sorting/cleaning and putting in the wardrobe, hooks need to go up on the wardrobe door for jewellery, and my dressing table contents need to be located and returned. However, that's all I can do until I start work on the spare room, when decisions will have to be made about which lampshades/pictures/mirrors go where...

I ordered curtain tie-backs (I'm fed up with curtains cutting out light during the day/fading at the edges) and a towel shelf for the bathroom (to free up space in the airing cupboard) so a couple of frogs have been dealt with. And I know that while my cousin is here doing the decorating he can deal with any DIY that needs doing (I'm not confident with a drill and he is!) without me having to wait for OH to be around/have time.

Hopefully I will get my study cleared enough tomorrow to be able to start working productively again :) I expect I'll be up early too, checking the news ;)

Oh... And Psycho... You've obviously made it through the first round, and I'm sure you can charm them at the interview. But remember, it's about you finding out whether you want to work for them, just as much as it's about them seeing whether they want to employ you.

Brilliant morning: sunshine that is exactly right. My engagement (I am here for a 30 min talk and for dinner which is the obligation of my fellowship) is in the afternoon. Till then will be chained to the desk, finishing the blasted large and big and scary thing I have been doing for couple of months now.

Once this is finished it will be time for enchantment and influence; remember how I was telling you that I ignore this part. Paria no more, asd Bridgett Jones says :).
