:j :j Congratulations Groatie!! :j :j
And:
:j :j Well done Firewalker! :j :j
Am hoping that myriad wonderful job opportunities pop up in the next few days for everyone who's struggling at work.
Nice to see your great news about the book sales and train tickets MG.
All this talk of greys is reminding me that I need a hair cut and a hair dye asap too.
Working all weekend <sigh> but I am really behind and OH is working in town too. HM pizza tea, beer and good chick flick "The Help". I am excited...:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Ouch, Dorastar - I hope your poorly back settles down quickly.
Horace - hugs (((( )))). The house and the job are very definitely on their way for you. Thank you very much for your good wishes, and I'm looking forward to congratulating you on your new home and new job in due course.
Lara - thanks for your good wishes too - I'm so happy! I know how fortunate I have been to sell - someone I know has a friend whose house has been up for sale for 3 years - a one bed cottage in good order but in an outlying village, so living there is heavy on transport costs.
Today the dining table went, via Freegle. It has gone to a really nice couple who have two grandchildren aged 4 and 9, and had a glass topped dining table :eek: and needed something more practical. They live near where I'm moving to, so I asked for a recommendation for a plumber (to plumb in the washing machine) - so I'm to give them a phone when I've moved in.
Today is more sorting and packing... no suprises there. Tomorrow I'm taking some things to my sister's, and some garden stuff is going to a friend. The last thing which needs to go is my other sofa. I love it but it is too big - so a charity is taking it for someone who has been homeless and is setting up from scratch. Hopefully it will go next Friday - then I'll be using camping chairs for a few days! :rotfl::rotfl:
It is bitterly cold here today, time to make some soup I think. If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

MG, do you still want photo from kitkat magazine? I can upload here, or post on your FB page, but would need you to pm me your fb page.
have you thought about putting any of these on your blog, under appearances?
and yes ! international author, if you have customers in Australia :T:j
That is a brilliant idea - I could scan in the other newspaper and magazine articles too and post them up there.
Why didn't I think of that??????
Will Pm you my email and then beg MrF for some handholding:)

Dorastar - meant to say, have you tried hot and cold treatment for your back?
20 mins cold pack, ie peas in towel
20 mins hot pack, ie hot water bottle?
might help release the muscles.
oh, forgot to say, after my wobble on here yesterday, and Crickett's :A advice, went to internet cafe to print off vouchers so I could buy ink cheaply at WHSmith, bumped into someone I know. She works in the local supermarket but wants something more challenging, more money, etc. Anyhow, she talked to an agency who have said there is a job, not localbut school hours, one day working from home, and better pay, using social media, ie FB and twitter. She doesn't know exactly where the job is or what it involves, but she was struggling to attach her cv to her email. so helped her with that, she sent it to the agency, I wished her luck, hope she gets the job.
She is going to speak to the agency to see if anymore vacancies, more details and next time I am in supermarket to check if she is working and she will let me know0 -
Just popping my head round the door to say hi, I catch up when I can, I also have a full time job (plus unpaid and never given T.O.I.L) which is taking up my time and most of my energy.
I also want out and quickly but that also takes time and energy, I have other avenues to pursue but the full time job at the mo encroaches on everything.
Its an interesting parallel really, those of us who have full time work but hate it and those who would no doubt gladly swap places as they are seeking work.
All I can say is that I see no reason at all why I should feel grateful that I have a job...the common refrain from many people who I meet.
I too, am very close to giving in my notice, I have already given myself permission to do so when I wish to.
Just wanted to give a huge hug to those who are going through similar...for me its only a job, not my health or my freedom that I would be giving up. I feel I have so much to gain by letting go.
I'll keep you guys posted, thanks especially to Crickett and Marru who have inspired me so much.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Thanks - have tried it before but need to make sure there is another responsible adult in the house to help out as last time the cold meant my back completely seized up and I was stuck on the floor like a rather large and sad hippo:o Is the kind of back problem where keeping moving is good so have tackled quite a bit of housework to keep me on my feet, so at least the house has gained from it.
We also have hail here so today has been an indoor den building festival instead of a trip to the park.

She is well chuffed now MG
Her plan in life at the tender age of 10, apart from being ruler of the world, is to be an author and to run a 24hour internet cake delivery service so she has an income while writing her books. I have one very determined daughter.
