    Exactly - that's what i don't get..

The only thing I can think is that it's part time and short term, and people don't want to disrupt their routine for 3 months...

...and I understand that too really, you have to be out of work for 12 weeks before you can claim certain things, and people might consider it a hassle too far...

I dunno (and that's not a criticism at all, so don't slate me) x

No they can do what is called a rapid reclaim - so no excuse

I guess people may be reluctant as it's "only" 18 hours, don't people need to work 24 hours nowadays to get tax credits? Big shame though....

    I didn't know that...

In that case then, the only thing I can think of is that I am horrible ;)

TMIF - you are not horrible. It is the crazy jobs market at the mo.

I don't understand employers - they even weed you out if you match their person spec exactly, I was advised yesterday that 6 people had been selected for interview and I was their 7th choice but not selected. Sometimes to get any job these days you have to go through hoops - I am toying with a 20hr job application (not sure if I am going to apply just yet) - what bugs me about the application form is that they are asking about my partner's details and that is none of their business quite frankly:mad:

Yay Groatie, that's brilliant - you'll be moving on my birthday :)
  • Thanks Crickett and Kittikins! It was my birthday on Sunday (same day as MG's little 'un) and this is the best birthday present I could have wished for. Kittikins, I will light a birthday candle for you in the new house.

My friends were amazed at how calm I've been, but I have been programming mightily for this. Nevertheless, it does feel really good to be at the binding contract stage. I'm at good friends tonight for a birthday celebration, so this news is the icing on the birthday cake!

The house is beginning to empty of furniture, most is simply too large for the bijou residence I'm moving to. Sofa and TV unit went today, dining table has several interested people on Freegle and I'm waiting for one to get back to me re uplift. More space to put the boxes!

Just 3 days to work next week before dealing with the final packing up.

    Can you tell I'm excited!?

Yes I can :) and I'm excited too, I've got my mojo back, having had a few days' slight grump re: house renovations, being on my own to do it, my s&dding unhelpful leg and back and the scary cost of everything.....and now I've been told by an electrician that I need a full rewire of the house....*sigh*

But today, I've tidied up quite a bit, brought more books into the house from their boxes in the garage which makes the sitting room, and am determined that no matter what the cost and length of time it takes to do the renovations, it'll all be worth it.
