Looks like a fab holiday and nice sketches - well done DS1.
Not much doing today apart from bin bag journey round the house and mega-ironing party. Then this afternoon a bit of planning ahead time and goal setting in the style of Mr Jack Black.
Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday - even if the think-tanks don't think we need them (have a sneaky feeling everyone in the think-tank won't be working today either and can't imagine they're moaning)Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Morning Matrix!
Well the weather is a bit bleak, but we are having fun chez Rickett! I think Dotty has recovered very well from her kennel cough. She is still a little bit snotty and coughy, but she is letting her character shine through. Jolly cheeky and naughty... but really sweet as well! She is currently lying behind my chair gnawing on her plastic stick that we got her recently! Helps prevent deforestation by Dotty, and avoids wood splinters going into her stomach which could get nasty. And is apparently, the best toy in the world EVER!
Plan for today is to do not a lot, but we might possibly go and buy some new shoes for hubby and I as well as a new printer for my application letters and CVs and stuff. Our old one died and it would cost more to get fixed than buy a new one. Which feel inherently wrong for some reason...!

Just taking a break from the ironing - although TBH I am pretty sure we could turn up in bin-bags in Manchester and no-one would give a scoobies.
Lovely and quiet today - both boys wanted a lazy day so they are still in jammies and playing together apart (well in the same room but on different things IYSWIM)
As it s a Bank Holiday I think I should go and rustle out a Musical for the afternoon - well thats what Bank Holidays are for after all LOL

On this one you are wrong. We in Manchester, are very particular about attire although we don't clean our car very often. Keep ironing! And don't forget your evening dress:rotfl:.

And in Germany where they have many more bank hols their productivity is higher because the 'work force' is more rested :DBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Have you know my paint splattered jeans are very dressy :rotfl::rotfl:
Anyhoo - Clootie rescued me from the ironing for a while so all is well:D
On Moneysaving front - having trawled the best buys for a Cash ISA this year I have come to the conclusion that the best place for any spare pennies is actually in my Mortgage Account. Mainly cos I don't have £2.5k to transfer and so on. So I shall now change my regular Monday payment and make to point to the mortgage pot instead.
Only a little - but I suppose it will all help in the long run

Thanks for your kind words; I have been learning, thinking and researching a lot about financial health - in fact, a lot of what I put in the post you mention is already in some form or another on my blog. But I find that I am more and more interested in looking at someone's problem and trying to find options applicable to them (different scenarios more like).
I really feel for the poster in question; but frankly I think that he is not ready to take any of the steps mentioned. Getting there but not ready yet.

Have been reading the blog, it is brilliant, not that it needs saying!
I agree,I think sometimes when you realise the life you lead is a nightmare of your own making it takes time for the changes you need to make and the options you have to become clear. I now know for example centring my life round my family and most particularly my folks was a mistake - I love them but I should have done things differently much differently I know that now. Some friends have put this to me in the past but I would not hear it. It is tough to admit your mistakes even tho we all make them.
any how hope everyone is enjoying the Bank Holiday!
