Oh Dear - waiting for DS1 to come home - but in the meantime found out that he was reduced to tears by the lad at school today. Surely with my worries being aired they should at least have called me to let me know he was distressed?
I guess I will get the full story when he gets home - Grrrrrr! was hoping he could have a nice weekend.

Also, it is rather amazing that a wonderful, politically charged holiday like to day in the UK became Mother's Day - putting women where they belong. Thinking about it, May, 1 International Workers' Day) is forgotten as well and we have a Bank holiday.
You can see I am in revolutionary mood, yes!
FirewalkerMother's Day was religious in origin, Firewalker. It's always on Laetare Sunday halfway through Lent when you are allowed a relaxation of the Lenten fast (so eating chocolate then doesn't count:rotfl:). So it was traditionally the day when girls in service would be allowed to go home to see their mothers
Last time I looked Mothers Day or Mothering Sunday which I guess is the correct term, is still celebrated in the church calendar. 'Mothers Day' has like most things, IMO, sadly been hijacked by the world of retail and consumerism. The simplest of celebrations lost in a cloud of overpriced imported tat. I must have my Friday-evening-after-a-long-week-at-work-cynic-hat on:rotfl:
If I had known it was IWD I would have looked very differently at the complete twonk of a male headteacher today I had a meeting with - 10 mins talking about the issues and 30 mins listening to him drone on about fantastic he is and making sure my eyes were not drawn to him constantly 're adjusting' himself IYSWYM - wanted to slap his hands - metaphorically. Any other way would just be wrong :rotfl:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Any other way and you would have to charge him £70 an hour for the privilege :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: "Ma'am!!!":D
DS1 was punched twice again whilst they waiting to go into Gym. Will take it up again on Monday but TBH I am sick to the back teeth of hearing that other boys name mentioned.
So happy weekend ladies

Off to Horrible Histories tomorrow - treat for dd - but dh ahs wound her up by telling her to get old clothes ready for going on a farm visit (she hates stinky farm animals) She will probably pop when she realises where we are actually going!
And eeeeeek went to do the Ofsted spiel last night and today the school got their phone call - the same happened at our place so now boss has said I really should do the lottery this weekend or cast my eye over the list of local schools and see if anyone jumps out at me and he'll give them a warning call!
Update from yesterday - Next don't do food other than chocs and booze - suppose there is light at the end of the tunnel then:rotfl:Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

MG, sorry to hear about DS1. I hate bullies, was bullied at high school, which is why it was not the best years of my life. Someone needs to seriously talk to this child who is doing the bullying!
Maybe DS1 needs to explain to him how it feels to be picked on, have stones thrown at him, etc. But then again the kid may not care
Dora, please inbox me the lucky 6 numbers for tomorrow
Well earlier this week was going to post some positive stuff, but DH soon put paid to that, by putting me down, and have been getting more and more miserable as the week has gone by. Am thoroughly miserable now. But was going to say how the matrixette magic works and things were getting positive for me.0 -
