I am so pleased with the location of the new house - right in the middle of the terrace and therefore easier to heat.
I have a sneaking suspicion that your house didn't sell until the perfect one for you to move into appeared. Mind you I also think it helps that you have done the work and got the house decluttered and in tip-top condition
Tomorrow I'm emptying what's left in the eaves storage here (black bags of curtains mainly) into the spare bedroom upstairs which is totally empty (it was my lodger's sitting room, and the old cane suite has gone to live in someone's summerhouse thanks to Freegle!).
In the afternoon I'm going over to measure the windows in the new house and decide which curtains can transfer. Then the rest can go to the charity shop. If I work my way down from top to bottom systematically at this end, then I should only be moving what is absolutely needed and that will save some money on the flitting costs.
I've had a fab day brushing up on Mindstore methods, and caught up in the breaks with MG and her polite and charming DS1. It's a good time for me to do an update, with a new life to programme for in the area I'm moving to. I've got 37 new goals written down and thought of some more on the train journey back. The famous magic loop socks are down there but realistically they will probably have to wait till after I move!
I've got my 52 goals on a wee mind-map ............... but why not bring your magic loop socks with you when you come over for your tea and we can have a workshop - then you can have one ticked off.
DS1 has just swished out of the room wearing his "cloak of confidence" - so I am thinking that yesterday was the start of something wonderful for him. He has already started to play with "delete that programme"
I feel like I have been through the wringer - 150 miles driven yesterday (the way back in the dark in the drizzle) - so a day of being kind and doing Mummy stuff is in store.

Poor DS2, I hope it's not croup MG.
I've been asked to write a character reference for an ex-colleague and I've never done one before - anyone got any tips? How long should it be roughly? No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Just a quick nose around before heading out to my parents.
MG sorry to hear that DS2 may have croup - I have heard it is quite nasty...well done to DS1 for having a new cloak and making twinks. Expect a recorded delivery item in the post tomorrow.
I have switched back to my normal glasses so no more double vision and no more sore eye. I am taking a colour chart with me when I see my parents to see what mum thinks of my colour choices. I cannot wait to move in - I know that as soon as we have the keys I will start moving things in and that way most small stuff will be done and then it is only the big furniture to move of which there are 6 or 7 things..not much in the scheme of things.
Well best get a wriggle on - don't want to be in the dog box for turning up just as dinner is dished. Take care in the rain peeps..0 -
Busy days this weekend, dh tank driving, ds's birthday party, sarah millican tonight - must try to squeeze in some house and schoolytype work at some point - probably late tonight tbh!Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Well after reading all the motivational items by everyone and seeing how well everyone is doing, I am thinking of applying for a job I have seen. It is working from home £100 a day, but only until November, and not in school holidays. Which means I will have no income July and August.
But I ummed and awwwed and thought, go for it, you may not get an interview anyway, and at least you tried. It is perfect in that it is flexible around school hours, which would be great for when DS starts school in September.
I also cleaned out all DS' toy boxes, and although he doesn't have as many toys as his Dad thinks, I did clear out ones he will no longer play with and try to sell them. Everything is much tidier now, he can see exactly what he has and where.
It is good as this morning, he brought down puzzles and did them all on his own :T, we tried to do the alphabet puzzles, but he had lost interest by then. We have baked, and he has gone and got skittles to play with, so all good.
Thanks ladies, you are pushing me to do things to improve my life.

Uuurggg!!!!
NHS 24 want us to take DS2 to the hospital as she "didn't like the sound of the cough" - Yup!!! she could hear it when she was on the phone.
Poor wee soul - although he says he doesn't "feel poorly" and has been eating well and drinking too - so it's no as if he is at deaths door.
Off to the docs we go I suppose.
