MM, I don't have much experience of your situation but I think the fresh air + exercise route is a good one to lift the spirits. Do you have a garden too? If so then seeing things grow day by day is always cheering, gives you something to look forward to, plans to make (to take your mind off the worrying) and is productive time as well so you feel you've really achieved something
I do have a garden but there is no veggie patch so it would be a case of diggingup some lawn to start one off - which is not out of the question but I'm not sure where to start with it. In the mean time I'm going to grow lettuce and basil in pots and spend some time on the greenfingered board on here for some pointers.
That walking and cycling should help to keep the black dog in its kennel. Well done with the food bill
I hope soGlad to hear you're feeling a bit better MM. I am going to make a timetable too - good adviceI hope the nice weather will continue. The brighter evenings and blue skies are so much nicer than cold and snow...
I know. I makes such a difference - makes you feel you want to join in again with life

And the weights are dry weight -so before they have been cooked. I chosethese ingredients because they didn't need to be soaked, just a kettle ofboiling water over them and off you go.

Thats brill thanks - I have all the ingredients in so will make tomorrow.

I have managed my walk AND cycle today. The CBT was OK, not sure what Ithink yet but glad I have the opportunity to have it to see if it helps.

good luck to your daughter Tenmah. Hope she can make a difference and the council choose to revise their wisdom.Hmmm wise councils......would that come under an oxymoron ?
:rotfl:
Hope the interview went well
Thank you, it went really well. I am so proud of her as it was live and she got her point across very succinctly. There was a touch of 'radio' voice and she is cringing at how posh she sounded, but I thought she sounded lovely.OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

FW... I am disappointed to discover there are no nice commuter flights from London to Sofia... to get there for 7pm I have to get a morning flight and be there for 1.30pm...
There are also no morning flights from Cyprus to Londonand my poor colleague who needs to go from Cyprus to Amsterdam looks as if he'll be spending the night at Heathrow. Unless of course the online booking system is rubbish and the travel agents can do better!
Off to pick up my fit note from the surgery, as apparently HR want it, now they've finally worked out I'm not signed off sick, just signed off part of my job...
I am surprised. Did you check all airports? There are flights from Gatwick and Luton (I think Luton is a budget one). Alternatively you could come to Manchester and fly EasyJet (and meet us all).

FWI'd hoped there would be something from either Heathrow or Southampton, as they are my local airports. From Heathrow I have a choice of an early BA flight or a late Bulgaria Air flight. My Dutch colleague only has an early Bulgaria Air one. Unless our travel agents can find something better.
You do know they'd make me fly to Manchester don't you  Don't suppose you'll be in Sofia on May 21st? I'll have rather a lot of free time... (sorry, I mean I'll be working in my hotel).0 -
Hi All. I've been reading but not really posting. Still a little fed up, but I think that mood has been prolonged due to being tired (not sleeping well), time of the month and a cold trying to take hold. Believe it or not, I'm not usually a negative person. I have odd days of feeling a little down (which tends to be about money) but normally I can pick myself up very quickly. Thank you for the kind thoughts and wishes the other day though, they were much appreciated :A
I have been thinking about MG's 30 day challenge. Mine will be to spend time each day either decluttering the house I live in or doing something to help make the jointly owned house my ex is in sellable! The sale of this will definitely improve my life, it just won't happen in 30 days (unfortunately)One step at a time0 -
My 30 day challenge is for OH and I to have a daily veg juice. We started a week ago and we're already feeling the benefit. Our new juice book arrived today so we can vary what we do to get a wide range of nutrients and not get bored with having the same one each day.
We tried one called instant detox last week (it was the first one) and it definitely did what it said on the tin - 10 minutes after I'd had it !
Another thing we need to do is something each day towards growing our own veg and herbs. I wonder if I'm brave enough to have my front lawn dug up. OH applied today for an allotment in his village as he'd heard that 2 have become vacant - that would perhaps be a better option. I do have some pots, a large wooden trough and a bit of garden beneath my bedroom window at the back that I shall use whether he gets the allotment or not.
Once these two things have become a firm habit by the end of the 30 days, my new thing for April needs to be researching how I'm going to provide an income for myself.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
I have eaten too much frozen yogurt... but it was lovely, and stopped me coughing.
I'm hoping one of you will have a copy of Paul J Meyer's 'Attitude is Everything' as I'd really like to quote from it, and at the moment I can't find a copy and so am having to quote from wikipediaI'd also quite like to read it after I've dealt with the work requirement...
Finished some work which wasn't technically overdue, but was two weeks overdue according to my schedule. I need to use the time I can't talk to try to get back on track.
Now I have to go and make my bed, which will be hard work, as I've completely stripped it, so need to put on a mattress cover, underblanket, sheet etc, and then because half my duvet is clean and half disgusting, I have to put a flat sheet and blanket on top, then put the clean bit of duvet in a cover and have that on the top. Pillows haven't yet been washed, but I plan to do them tomorrow. The weather doesn't matter as they have to be fried in the dryer anyway to kill bugs and make sure that no mould grows on the feathers.
Over the weekend I need to clear space to that I can move furniture next week and get ready for the rest of the floors being done on Thursday. Fingers crossed that the decorator OH left a message with bothers to get back to me. I might have to ask the friend who recommended her to chase for me next week if she doesn't. But as she's good I dread to think how long I'll have to wait for her now0 -
Hiope that you and DS1 have an enjoyable and productive day in Glasgow MG.
I have the exciting job of buyng a new ironing board as yesterday while I was ironing the legs fell off! Seems the joints have rusted away.
My dad does think my hobby is ironingso perhaps I should learn to cut down a bit in the next 30 days and use the time for something more fun.
