1/2 cup green lentils
1/2 cup red lentils
1/2 cup mung beans
1/2 cup bulghar wheat
Now what I have got is a bowl of greeny / brown grainy textured mushy stuff. It is a complete protein mixture - because I have combined pulses and grains - so :j
Delurking with a question - are these quantities before or after the beans have been soaked and boiled?
I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while. I read every day and join in with sending positive vibes to those that need them. I have been in hibernation mode with the black dog moving in for a few weeks - why?!!!!!!.I tell it that I have a lovely partner, great kids, a job, my health, a home, enough to eat - but he refuses to leave. However now the spiring is on its way I'm hoping he will leave soon.
My working hours (and salary) have been drastically reduced so I have 3 full days at home. I haven't been great at dealing with this 'time' and it all seems to go without me having achieved much(except overthinking stuff and worrying). I need to consider the positives of being at home and being 'time rich'. My hours may well increase again in September so I need to use my time now effectively.
Yesterday I wrote a timetable for my days - just to give them structure. Also arranged to accompany a friend who takes her dog for a long walk (a good hour) 3 days a week. She is going to call for me and we'll walk from mine.
My sister has recenly got into cycling and it is doing her loads of good so I have brushed the dust off my bike and decided that during the day if my trip is below 3 miles I have to cycle. At night if the trip is below 1 mile I have to cycle (or walk!!). So far did 6 miles on Wednesday and 4 miles yesterday.
Financially it is going to be tight - so have been doing the grocery challenge and shaved £50 off the monthly food bill. My debt busting has had to be reduced but its all on 0% and I still hope to clear more than the minimum pmts.
First CBT session today so feeling a bit anxious about that but hoping that it helps.
Hope everyone has a good day xFebruary 2021 GC £301.45 / £300.00

Well I did manage an earlier start today, :j but haven't got too far yet as before I'd been up long DD woke up too and demanded attention. Still it's a start!
MM, I don't have much experience of your situation but I think the fresh air + exercise route is a good one to lift the spirits. Do you have a garden too? If so then seeing things grow day by day is always cheering, gives you something to look forward to, plans to make (to take your mind off the worrying) and is productive time as well so you feel you've really achieved something0 -
MM - sounds like you have a plan brewing, but I agree, getting out and about is where its at.
And the weights are dry weight -so before they have been cooked. I chose these ingredients because they didn't need to be soaked, just a kettle of boiling water over them and off you go.

OK - turning out to be a spendy week already. (My weeks run Friday to Friday) Savings for Glasgow trip kind of got re-directed into a battery for the car.
£20 petrol for Glasgow trip
£8.50 for oil - I was waaaaaay low
Water and antifreeze FREE
Water and screen cleaner FREE
Bookpeople - 16 Stories of Shakespeare £10
Plus £10 set aside for my parking tomorrow.
So my £50 weekly budget is well and truly busted - time to grab a notepad and figure out the cheapest way of eating to see us through the week - still its only 7 days isn't it? Its gotta be possible,

I am sure you will find way - can you use your freezer content a bit more?
It is also nice to see that this place is a bit less busy - I am taking it as everyone focusing on doing something productive (well, productive in a different way).
What am I doing here? My timer just went off telling me that I have created for long enough; now is time for something else. Chatting to old friends and mindfulness meditation! Yeah, baby! (these American bloggers are really getting to me, it seems).

well this is going to be interesting - my GP is signing me fit for amended duties, including reduced hours (apparently I should be resting because of the antibiotics, but I just get bored) and no talking on the phone for up to three weeks...
... my job involves at least 2 hours on the phone to clients every day, and I've already missed two weeksI'm not to talk at all if I can avoid it for another week, and then hopefully I'll be OK to do presentations on March 15th. If my voice isn't recovered by then I'll have a referral for someone to check that I haven't damaged by vocal chords. And if I still have a temperature by the middle of next week (I'm still soaking my bedding at night, which is lovely... I plan to try to wash it all today, as I'm not sure whether it's me or the bed sweating anymore!) then I also have to go back...
Please can someone find their magic wand? I'm really, really fed up with this now.
Oh... and I can't call the bathroom people (who need an appointment to come and fix the bath panel on) or the decorator (who I need to come and quote and book in dates) because a. they won't be able to hear me and b. I'm not supposed to be talking. So the house chaos is going on rather longer than planned...0 -
Currently seeind double - had a wasted trip to the eye hospital this morning as it appears the optician is on holiday so I have put up with these crappy spexs until Wednesday:mad: I shall have to let them know at the college on Monday that I won't be able to attend on Wednesday or Thursday due to appointments although I could attend on Thursday morning.
Spent some book tokens in Waterstones. I found the courts and dropped my papers off. Got off bus in Northfield and went to post office - there was queue out the door so life was too short, I walked to the sub post office and their system is down until Monday - will I ever be able to send this parcel northwards?
Came home to find a message from my landlord claiming that I owe him 6 months' rent when I don't:mad: My bank shifted the payment date to the end of the month from 5th of the month and I last paid rent on 29 February...they did this because of my housing benefit cheques because my housing benefit is paid in arrears and the bank charge me if I go over the £500 overdraft limit. I will be glad to be out of this hole - I barely get sleep at night due to noisy neighbours.0 -

:rotfl: don't know if it is a good thing when the thread is busy now. I just thought it was people letting of steam or sharing good news. But maybe you are right0
