greenbee, I got all excited as I thought I could help you out with the book, but mine is the one by Jeff Keller not Paul J Meyer.
MG and DS1 - have a great time this weekend.
Groatie queen - fabulous news on the house sale/purchase and interesting that the better house came back on the market just when you were ready.
I've been explaining to OH for ages about being ready for opportunities when they arise rather than waiting for things to happen before taking action, but unfortunately he still doesn't get it!Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Morning Ladies
A nice day pottering for me. First, got to clean the old futon up so it can go on Freecycle. The fabric shop was ace - got lots for patch working and some for curtains too (spent £40 though - oops)! Going to try out some options. Not sure if roman blind or curtains would be best in the office/spare room.
Then maybe head to the cinema later - been wanting to see Woman in Black for ages. I feel like a new woman...:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -

Just come back from talking to course director/tutors with regards to starting a doctorate later this year................heck my brain hurts now but this was part of the reason as I need to get the grey matter moving again! Academics.............hmmmm................I do wonder which world they live in and sometimes their social skills are a little suspect. With apologies to any academics reading this
Anyway it was part of the Great Master Plan for 2012 and I have made the first steps so now a lot of thinking to do and get a 500 word proposal written. Also part of the GMP 2012 is also to declutter which will have to happen if I am to to do this doctorate and its my challenge for March on this thread - all beginning to fit like a jigsaw.so Swift panad ( cuppa!) and off I go.
Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Yay I can now see the computer again - no more double vision:j I spoke to Mum on the phone earlier and she suggested that I go back to wearing my old glasses so I have and now I can see although I will need to wear the others to drive in.
Had a chance to look at my book about Jams & Preserves that I picked up yesterday..there are some yummy receipes in there for things such as banana spread, tropical fruit jam etc. etc.
When I spoke to Mum earlier I got invited around for lunch tomorrow (a roast), we spoke about the house and how much the solicitor is charging her (around £1K), the windows it seems are a matter of urgency as someone could just push the windows in and they would pop out of their frame:eek: the fuse box also needs to be done before anyone moves in. I think I will take the time when works are being done to paint the pantry. She also tipped me off about a new large charity shop opening - the YMCA has a warehouse sized charity shop in Bromsgrove, she espied a lovely small china cabinet (I have a ton of glassware to display) for £25. I am on the look out for another wooden bookcase - I don't want a case made from flim flam:eek:
Hit the local shops - mainly the co-op's whoopsie shelves (they now have 2 for fridge foods and 3 large shelves for things like bread)..I picked up a bargainous twin pack of beef meatballs, a pound of sausages, a packet of honey roast ham and two teensie fresh cream cakes. In Tatco I got milk (cheaper than the Co-op), a reduced price melon & grape salad and a jar of coffee.
Greengrocers - was 4 baking spuds for 69p (packed) 2 bunches of daffs £1
I was offered some free coffee in the church hall but I didnt have time nor did I fancy a coffee just as that moment.:(0 -
Thanks, oceanspirit. I'm a great believer in the right thing happening at the right time, so if there is a delay it is usually because something else needs to happen. I am so pleased with the location of the new house - right in the middle of the terrace and therefore easier to heat.
Tomorrow I'm emptying what's left in the eaves storage here (black bags of curtains mainly) into the spare bedroom upstairs which is totally empty (it was my lodger's sitting room, and the old cane suite has gone to live in someone's summerhouse thanks to Freegle!).
In the afternoon I'm going over to measure the windows in the new house and decide which curtains can transfer. Then the rest can go to the charity shop. If I work my way down from top to bottom systematically at this end, then I should only be moving what is absolutely needed and that will save some money on the flitting costs.
I've had a fab day brushing up on Mindstore methods, and caught up in the breaks with MG and her polite and charming DS1. It's a good time for me to do an update, with a new life to programme for in the area I'm moving to. I've got 37 new goals written down and thought of some more on the train journey back. The famous magic loop socks are down there but realistically they will probably have to wait till after I move!If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

It feels as if everyone is preparing for some big and exciting changes.
I've made a start with my MG 30 day challenge. My decluttering started in the garden! I've filled 6 bags with leaves. Annoyingly I reckon there's only another 2 bags worth left, but I couldn't make the children wait any longer for dinner...they might have eaten me
I've also tackled a 'frog' as you all say! It's a job I've been meaning to do for a looooonggg time. So i'm glad the 1st stage of it is completed.
Aesop and Greenbee - hope you are both winning the fight against the germs! :AOne step at a time0 -
Well done hopeful
I've done a bit of decluttering too... Well, halfway there in that I have boxed up some books to send off to a friend who takes in all the ones I don't have room for anymore! I've also arranged for my cousin to do my decorating once the floors are done, so we just need to sort out dates. I don't want to be sleeping on the sofa bed or airbed for too long!
The weather should be nice this week, so I plan to get some stuff done in the garden too, and I need to catch up on housework. The laundry is pretty much up to date - mattress topper, dressing gown and two more pillows to go. The pillows I've done have come up beautifully. I always forget how easy it is to get then clean. Two go into the WM at a time on 60 with half the normal amount of powder and vinegar in the rinse (fabric conditioner would clog the feathers), and then shove them in the TD on hot with dryer balls/tennis balls for 40 minutes or however long it takes them to cook! They're lovely and clean and plump (albeit with a faint whiff of feather!)
The bit of the duvet that doesn't fit in the WM is in the car and will go to the cleaner's when I do my next charity shop drop off.
I'm nearly out of cough sweets - everyone thought I was mad buying vast quantities of ricola from AF, but I thought they'd be useful for work... I will have to source some more! Voice is starting to return, and work has been sorted out now HR understand that I'm not taking time off, and my fit note simply says no phone work. I think my boss saw the word 'pneumonia' after 'broncho' on it and decided I really am ill!0 -
Small frog munched this evening, and a few more found. March is not only get moving month in the moam household, its frog muching month too by moam decree! DH has decided to join me so I hope for a very productive month...
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0
