Horace - Green Metropolis is another book selling site. I only signed up last week following recommendations from a few other MSE-ers. It's very simple to use.

I've had a lovely day, though definitely not as productive as yours MG!! I've had a steady stream of friends in and out all day for coffee, cake and biscuits (including my not-quite-biscotti-but-taste-good-anyway biscuits!!!).

One friend has also said I can use her address as a delivery address when the business is up and running. This will save me a fair bit of cash, which is paramount when I start up! I've also had a few more ideas, so am keen to get going now but need to practice patience!

    Lemon marmalade? Yum!!

    Well done MG :)

Pretty much no work done today, which I know I will regret later as it has been a pretty unproductive week what with having had a cold, but I had a lovely day babysitting. My nephew seems to think I need looking after... he feeds me (Ok, so sometimes stuff is a bit chewed ), and today got his changing mat out when he wanted his nappy off at bathtime, as well as trying to clean my teeth for me :D. He's a really affectionate little boy. And the baby is lovely too, she was really chatty and smiley while we were out today. It's nice getting to spend so much time with them on my own... at one point I really didn't think my DB and SIL were going to let me, but they seem to realise that I can manage (I did point out that I used to be an aupair in my teens and twenties for a friend who has 5 children...) and the children are happy to spend time with me.

Better have an early night and hope my cold is gone in the morning, as I need to have a decent walk and get a LOT of work done tomorrow.

The type of business I want it to be ultimately is not how it will start due to funds. I have a series of ideas that will interlink and allow me to make a start. It will be slowburning, but will give me chance to learn and adjust whilst juggling work and the boys. The main job I need to do now is look for insurance quotes.

Struggling to get anything done! A very disorganised ,disjointed week for me and all my great plans have either been squashed or just not happened.

Trying to get a job application - I am just really carp at selling myself. Just cant find the words that say 'hey you really want me!' Double difficult because I feel this job has already been earmarked - so just how much effort do I put in?? Just feel very negative about it all but know I will kick myself if I don't go for it............ And then of course I am even carpier in interviews when I just get completely tongue tied and sound like an idiot who really doesnt know what I am talking about :( Cant sleep. House in complete disarray. Want to bury my head in the sand. AAARRGGHH!

Arranged to meet a friend tomorrow - well later today- hoping she will have some good advice/pointers or even just some stock phrases would help to get me started!

Oh Igamogam - you have got yourself into a tizz. A real downward spiral of negative "beating up on yourself". I use a technique of "guided visualisation" from this Guy:

    http://shop.mindstore.com/index.cfm?page=1

I can't do the "mind empty" kind of meditation - but this guy guides you through a deep relaxation and also uses NLP and TFT (Thought Field Therapy) - so that you can choose how you get to feel about stuff that triggers your emotions. Can you cast around and find someone / something that can help you re-frame how you feel about "selling yourself". BTW I'm having the same issue so I am still a work in progress.

Had a dream that the tapes all unwound in DS2's room last night - but I have been up and checked, they are all still there. Second coat in a wee while after I do a quick sand down.

But first - off to L**l for some lemons I think to make some HM luxury.

    Happy Happy Friday

    Hey Everyone

After a bit of enforced rest I do feel a lot better. So some gentle work today and then meeting one of my friend / mentors and we're going to chat about work. I'm really looking forward to it.

Igamogam - you must be so excited about your solar panels!!! Surely just getting that done is a big enough goal for the week :D Sorry to hear the application form is a bit tricky. If you don't feel comfortable 'selling yourself' start off with the facts about your previous work. Then try to 'pull out' the skills that lie behind that. I find that much easier than trying to pick out skills in the abstract.

MG - well done on that ames taping, it looks super fab :j :j You must be so pleased! This will be such a big leap forward in your plans, how exciting!
Also - I was planning to preserve some lemons today. What a weird coincidence you mentioned the L*dl offer. Cheers :)

Hopeful - that's such great news about your business. Looking forward to hearing all about your plans as they grow.

    Greenbee - what a fab day :)

Marru - have a great time in London!

Marru - enjoy London, and when you get back, I need your advice as I have a work trip to Helsinki coming up at the end of the month... :D

So far this year I am booked for... Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo, Munich (three times.... March, April and May... doesn't say much about their organisation!), Lisbon, London, Sofia, Athens and Lubljana... Most of them day trips. But I get 2 days in Helsinki, and as it is a Monday start have the possibility of part of the weekend as well. Sofia is at the end of May, and sadly between Lubljana and Athens (lets hope there are flights!) so I won't get any sightseeing time....

Wow Greenbee, that's some serious travelling there! I think i've done a lot if i have to travel 25 miles in my job!

Lara, glad to hear you're feeling better. I think it's so easy to get caught up with all that we need to do, we forget how important rest is and the power is holds over our well being.

Igamogam, I hope your friend can inspire you. Selling yourself is always the hardest part. Sometimes we don't realise just how much we do 'cause it happens automatically. Don't underestimate the importance of the skills you have.

    Aesop, hope you're feeling ok.

Uuuurgh!!!! Just caught sight of myself in the mirror - I look like I have been snowed on, absolutely covered in plasterdust.

Second coat about to go on and then I am for a bubble bath - that is a soak in the bath where no toddlers come in to chat and no big boys come in for a wee. I remember when that used to happen but then I have a great memory)

Great news - My MM gig has just doubled to two per month - which means, £100 per week to the mortgage fund once we get rolling - woooooohoooooo!!!!

Still way off 15 streams of income - but ticking off each one as we go

PS Bought 9 lemons - so I think marmalade AND preserved lemons are on the cards for later
