Very pleased for you Horace and good luck with the move. I tried the new look and like it.

OH's hours increase has been made official
This month is hideous financially but we have ten days until payday and I'm determined not to go over the overdraft and then next month we know will be better
No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Great news Gemmzie.
It certainly looks like this is a great week for positive news
Off to babysit... back later to shoehorn in the day's work...0 -
Even more great news - Mum is taking the boys until Sat evening - meaning major works in the room can go ahead. I will learn to do this if it takes me until then.
So SC on with a vat of soup to sustain me - bin liners to the ready, old clothes on and hawk to hand.
I have even looked out the painting kit (although that might be a little ambitious)
Woohoooo!!!!
MGFINALLY AND OFFICIALLY DEBT FREESmall Emergency Fund £500 / £500
Pay off all Debts £10,000 / £10,000
Grown Up Emergency Fund £6000 / £6000 :j
Pension Provision £6688/£23760 -
What utter filth...I don't need a neck massager thanks.
Uhm...a man can change lightbulbs and put the bins out and deal with dead animals. Can't think of another use for them.
Now having a major panic - can I afford it? I need to pack and sort stuff out, change addresses, cancel things. At the moment all I have coming in is my JSA, HB will go but apparently I will still get council tax benefit. I don't think my savings of £136 is going to go very far:( Still onwards and upwards, Horace will survive and will get a job (any job will do even a part time one).
I have decided to have a book cull and some books will go to the charity shop, I need to list CDs and DVDs onto Music Magpie because any money for them is better than nothing. I also need to do a carboot when the weather is warmer.
No idea when I will be moving yet - it is all in the hands of mum & dad (or rather mum because dad is deaf).
I will remember to use Topcashback for buildings and contents insurance. I have £40 of B&Q vouchers to come and £30 of Argos vouchers too.
Might nip to Aldi to spend a few pounds as I would like a garden bag for my clippings as I do not have such a thing at the moment although I am guessing that I could use one of my bags for life (I have a few).
I need to box things up including my office - some stuff can be carried in my car and I can make a few trips, the bigger stuff e.g. sofa, bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, crates, metal shelving, computer desk can go in a van. Small tables, camping gear, glassware, crocks and food etc can go in the car. The freezer can come with me and I can store it in the lobby until such time as I can sell it - that way it will be easier to shift as at the moment it has to go down a flight of stairs.
Was supposed to go to the eco centre today as they have a gardening meet from 10-12, however, I have too much to do so will give it a miss, might call them to see if they want some of this wood that I have in my shed.0 -
Horace, have you thought about trying to sell your books instead of giving them to the charity shop? Try http://zapper.co.uk/0

Well hello again - it has only taken me about 6 weeks to catch up on your post! It has been lovely to see the support you give one another and all striving to be so positive.
Although I am still very much in my DFW journey at the moment I also love the thoughts of going beyond that to finding a life based on a feeling of abundance rather than scarcity.
Thank you all for the positive vibe you have given me while I have been quietly reading your posts :ADebt Free. Have my Van.Find dream

Ike@ blue bags are invaluable when moving and useful for clippings; they can even do double duty as gro bags I hear:D‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
