Waiting in again for isme.com to deliver , they were supposed to deliver yesterday but they "couldn't access the property" which is odd as we are on the main road and the front door is right on the pavement, no drive nor nuffin!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

I have some Tesco's bags for life - stronger ones not the usual plastic ones. I could use them. Some of my chums have said that they will help me move - e.g. two chaps will shift furniture in exchange for beer and food. A female friend has also offered to help and she will be coming down from Cheshire when the time comes. We may end up having a party:D
I hadn't heard of those book sites before - I must have a look and see what I can shift (some books are a bit tatty and they can definitely go to the charity shop).
Thinking too far ahead (as usual) I have plenty of veg seeds (I think I will leave the two tubs that I have anchored on the balcony as I think someone else may appreciate them) but I will take my longer ones and my tiny greenhouse and assorted accoutrements) and I can always blag some plants off mum because her greenhouse is always full and she always has tons to spare.
As for days out - I have an NT card so I can get inspiration from gardens and houses. Madness to think so far ahead when I don't know if if I will be able to pay bills (at least I won't have some of the expense that I do now so that will be trimmed dramatically plus I have food in the pantry so I won't starve).
Sorry - you are going to get bored with me wittering on - this will be my first ever house (I do not include the marital home in this equation as my name was never on the deeds and I never classed it as mine).0 -
Uhm...a man can change lightbulbs and put the bins out and deal with dead animals. Can't think of another use for them.
Those are the things that I do. In my household man is tied between the kitchen sink and the cooker and released only to use the vacuum :rotfl:Oh and do a bit of gardening...;)"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Witter on Horace - BTW don't think the deeds matter hon - after all those years of marriage pretty sure the divi will have to be 50/50.
I DINNAE NEED A MAN - well not for Ames taping anyways:p. On a scale of 1 -10 I give it a 4 for difficulty - well within the reach of most of us on here. In fact if you can half-way decently ice a cake it's a doddle:beer:
First coat is on - so all the boards have got tape on their joins and filler in the screw holes. Tomorrow a quick sand over and coat two and jobs a good 'un. Didn't take me too long (about the length of "Elton Johns Love Songs" CD) Good singalonga diy music.:D
I even managed to figure out the internal corners all on my own:D
Progress at last :j

Lightbulbs is because I cannot stand on a tiny step ladder without feeling faint (I is a weed:rotfl:).
Now I can sort of ice a cake, I can sand wood using various grades of sandpaper and I can use varnish. I can also change the piston rings on a Triumph Bonneville:D
Currently trying to sort my books out but keep being distracted by them..I have so many to read and re-read. Maybe I will ditch the telly altogether as that will save some money and I can read and listen to CDs and Radio 2, and I can watch DVDs too. I think that the Kathy Reichs can go...0 -
Was just thinking - during the clean up and the posting of piccies of my handiwork .................. you do know what is going to happen don't you Horace?
You will be offered a job - and they will want you to start on moving week - its always the way, there's some kind of universal law that says once you start moving it all happens at once.
Woohoo - picture uploaded, now to find the primer as I may be able to prime all the woodwork before the light goes.

Ok in addition to my previous post, the man in my life is taking us to London tomorrow. I need to renew DD's passport and hallelujah - one small mercy for not having been married, according to my country men ex does not exist so I don't need his consent for renewing DD's passport. So we are making a day out from it. I do plan on dropping one once very expensive dress (French boutique ) into dress agency while in London"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."
