Hello Matix, I've finally found you :) Have been busy with various fete preparations, a very poorly OH and.......I'm buying a new house! Some of you may remember that I sold my house really quickly, well I've kind of done the same with my purchase, I was the first to see the place and me, DD, my parents and OH all love it, so it's hopefully (if the mortgage goes through ok) got my name on it :) It really does seem to be my time now to move on with my life.

This has been a great year - met OH *swoon*, my work stress has been sorted out thanks to my very kind boss listening to me, DD is growing up day by day to more and more lovely, and whilst my house move is kind of being forced on me due to medical reasons, it's going to be BRILLIANT. Wooho!!

All that, and I'm getting better at spending less and decluttering more........well I need to as I'll be brassic when we move and am losing a bedroom but gaining a mahoosive garage and garden, complete with veggie plot for DD and friends to look after for me, lol.
  • Yay. carpet now on DS bedroom floor not on landing.

Can now move stuff back in and then the house won't look look as though its a jumble sale, stuff on any available surface waiting to go in its proper place.

    Hurrah!

On way back from Cornwall last year we popped into Trago Mills. Saw a wonderful big blackboard, like those where they put the Specials on in restaraunts. Saw the price and left it where it was athough I loved it. DH made me one from a piece of MDF and blackboard paint and left over wood. Very :money:

Oooh - backboard paint, I've got some of that lurking. It would be good on the back of the easel for DS2's Christmas present. Brilliant inspiration.

Just waiting for a phone call to let us know when to trundle down to parentals - in the meantime the boys and I are snuggled up having Sunday breakfast and cartoons.

So todays 15 minutes is checking I have the boring stuff in:

    bin bags
    recycling bags
    tissues
    loo roll
    matches
Batteries (please tell me you all have a battery box too?)
    Spare light bulbs

And that will be my holiday prep for the day

Snow! Just a dusting, first of the season.

I'm just up for a bath, breakfast, antibiotics and clean pj's then I'm off back to nest in bed for the day.

Great news about the house, Kittikins. Any chance of someone making you some raised beds at a height you could work at? Plastic under-bed boxes which are fairly shallow, drilled for drainage, on an old table. Someone really clever could remove the top and use the table frame adjusting so the boxes drop in. You don't need a lot of depth for salad veg and herbs, and at the right height (table legs can be sawn to suit) you could sit and work at your table-top garden.

    Maybe Santa can be persuaded?!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Oooh, that's a good idea about the raised beds groatie. Santa's bringing me a new kettle, toaster and joy of joys, a pressure cooker (oh and giving me a ginormous amount of money to be able to buy this new house), so I'll have to think more of the birthday fairy for that, lol.

Actually, once we're in, I think it'll be the freecycle fairies :)

Darn it, I've run out of spread - brought home a bin liner full of rolls from yesterday's fete and have made a week's worth of cheesy rolls for the freezer. Not sure how many more I can cram in as I also bought off the last of the veggie sausages, so we'll be yummily well fed for a while, gratis.

Big beany soup cooking up in the slow cooker for tonight's dinner, will be nice with a bread roll or two!

Well done robsmum, you're going great guns :) I feel the need to start making good lists for my goals, but at the moment can't see the wood for the trees! There's so much to do around here.....

Well done Robsmum, that's amazing progress!

Having bought The Takeaway Secret recently, I have now made a couple of fantastic curries, which are better than most of the takeaways we've used. I've got a big batch of the base sauce to put in the freezer now, which means our takeaway urges should be curtailed a bit.

I've just checked, and it looks like the Christmas puddings I made yesterday (finally) have worked :) Today's cooking and baking plan is an onion tart and roast pork for us and MIL. Got a fair bit to do with tidying up before MIL arrives though.

I'm still having mixed successes with OH's spending. He signed up for a boxing channel at £10/month, but neglected to mention that it had a minimum 6 month contract  He later was determined to get the new Harry Potter on Blu-ray. I did my research and Asda had it at the lowest price and said if he wanted it, it had to be from there. He got there to find a different (higher) price and came hope empty-handed. Like I said, mixed success.

well done robsmum! what fab achievements!:beer:
  • Well done Robs mum that is quite an inspirational list.:T

I have got to do some real tweaking now to get everything of mine back on track.

The first week of the month is usually planning for me. I think I need to do a two month plan as I am beginning to panic a bit financially and time wise. Having to replace the car has really hit us in the overdraft:eek:

So I am having a thoughtful morning before I put my pen to planner

MG Your mini challenges have really helped me to get cracking. Prescriptions ordered and menu for "big weekend" just about sorted; so at least I now know what baking to do as well.

A cup of coffee in order and the last ceremonial soaking of brandy over the christmas cake. While I am there I will see what I have missing from the "15 minute check list"

    Have a good Sunday everyone
My finances are work in progress.
    Normal veiwing will resume shortly
