  • I have to be honest - since I had my hassles with Talk-talk, I've stuck with BT. Not very MSE really, but at least they're (relatively) reliable.

Can't get Virgin here either, otherwise I probably would...

I hope so! They've been utterly useless since we first signed up with them!

No idea, OH will have to speak to them as the account is in his name. We can't go to Virgin - it's not even available down here!!

hopefully they don't know that and you can threaten to leave them. that usually makes them offer you things to stay.

like free packages for 3 months etc.

my friend complained to virgin when they first installed her box as they made a hash of it and she got the main box and her bedroom box for free for a year!
  • So, erm, if my freezer had defrosted itself all over the kitchen floor, do you think I could just refreeze everything.... erm, no me neither... what a pain in the bum!

I was banking on all those stashed up left overs too. Poo!

EDIT: I know it was my fault, how daft of me... grr!

Greenbee - re the watch, Am I right in thinking he used to quote song lyrics at you on chat? If so pick a significant one maybe? Inspired by you I am going for an engraved zippo (the last one I bought him was borrowed by SS1 and not returned) with a lyric he used to quote at me a lot when I wouldn't get involved with him ten years ago. That and some books brings me in at the max £25 budget we set ourselves this year.

ETA Huge hugs tmif, you can cook and re-freeze any raw meat if this helps at all? Is it covered on your insurance?

Also much amusement in this house. My kitchen is packed up whilst DH makes the new one - deadline c'mas eve.

Mummy please can we make some mince pies?

    Hmm. On paper, No!

Howver, mincemeat opened last year still in fridge - no mould, but not a lot left. Tasted and it is fine. Padded with some value mixed fruit and some citrus zest.

Small ball of pastry I made weeks ago and didn't get time to use, froze rather than bin at the time, defrosted. No idea which crate the rolling pin is in so bottle of wine used to roll pastry (did explain that milk bottle is traditional). Mug as a cutter - no idea which box mine are in. OOD ground almonds used with an egg helpfully laid by the girls in the hydrangeas earlier to make a macaroon topping. I think my boy is getting a good education in practicality! Had to open the wine though cos it is all floury *coughs*, may have been cheaper to go the the co-op but so much less fun!

Well done on improvisation hex - hope OH's project plan allows for all eventualities!

Good idea about the song lyrics... I'll just have to try to think of a significant one that can't be misinterpreted!

    "I aaaaaaammmmmm an inocccceeeeennnnttt MAaaaaaannnn!!!"

    - sorry just having a Matrix inspired flashback. Seriously if any of you rememeber that you have been hanging out here for far too long:D

Sorry to hear you are poorlie Groatie - please take care of yourself.

Mum now has 12 drawers made and tweaked to make them run level, an integrated washing machine, an induction hob wired up, and oven housing built and oven installed and the sink fiddled with as it had a wee leak.

Then I even managed to do one of those posh extractor fan thingies - you know the curved glass and stainless steel chimney things? Boy do they ever have sharp edges.

Tomorrow I need to scribe the back of the boiler cupboard and lay the cushionfloor - ran out of time as parentals are out at a choir concert tonight. But then it should be done - or I should be one or the other:D

Busy busy busy - but boys are home and fed so all is well in MG Manor.

I'm about 70 ish miles from Trago - straight up the M5! my parents have been known to go there just for a day trip - especially if they were after a large rug for the sitting room. They used to own a small cottage in brixham - many happy holidays there!
