No work done today... my normal morning walk was moved to 4pm.... then my Thursday walk and reflexology was moved to this morning... then OH suggested meeting up near him for a lunchtime walk. So I have walked 8 miles
done no work, bought stuff for supper (forgot lemon and orange though, so will improvise) and booked a bargain spa day for myself and a friend on Sunday (£59 each for 2 course lunch, use of spa 9-6pm and full body massage). Need to do a quick tidy up and hoover/dust downstairs, shower and then start getting supper as she'll be here in a couple of hours.
Tomorrow I'm off to see the Hockney exhibition at the Royal Academy, have lunch with friends and have a haircut, so with the spa and a friend staying the weekend, that sounds like a pretty good weekend to mehere's hoping the scales agree on Sunday night ;-)
Well done to Horace, MG and Lara...0 -
That's a lot of miles Greenbee... a spa day sounds like fun (which reminds me I still have a facial to use up at Clarins) and I am slightly envious of the Hockney exhibition. I saw him on Countryfile one week and he was talking about it and they showed some of the new artwork.
I spoke to mumsie tonight - dad had to go to see the specialist today and he has kindly removed the huge lump on dad's head and he has to go back on 9 March to see about the growth on his nose which is likely to be basal cell carcinoma. The lump apparently is a cyst and it was most unsightly. We discussed the house - I need Matrixettes to pray, pray that the person viewing on Saturday dislikes it and if they do like it that they have something to sell which has not yet sold:D Mum & Dad cannot view the house yet as on Monday she is seeing her accountant and on Tuesday Dad has to see his GP to get his head dressing changed. Mum asked me an important question "could I live there?" I said that I loved the house and could see my furniture in there (I keep picturing my furniture in the house) and that I already had plans for the garden as I wanted to have a vegetable patch. This is what Dad was worried about - would I be happy there. The house is warm, it gets the sun all day, it is close to shops, I can walk to Morrisons and up the other end there are other shops. I can easily get the bus or the train. I am close to nice walks up the Lickey Hills too.
Tried ringing the Benefit Delivery line today - the cursed people, all I want is a proof of benefits letter and I have tried all afternoon each time hanging on for 10 mins. I decided to ring at 5.45pm and held on for 10 mins before I was cut off so was forced to ring back and hung on like a lemon until getting a message at 6pm telling me that the office was closed:mad: I shall have to try again on Monday.0 -
Morning all
Washing machine on, breadmaker on, shopping list written, been out for my "envelope money" (Brrrrrrr!!!! Its freezing)
Going to have a "back to basics" day with my Mindstore programme today - listening and updating some minor goals and redoing my "Night Book" - just feel that my three year plan is a little woolly around the edges and I'm not seeing clearly something obvious.
Any SW members on here? Could you pop me aPM if you can look up the syns in some Ainsley Harriot couscous packets.
Off to make a pot of lovely coffee

Nice lie-in this morning, ds swimming, houseywork in 15 min chunks and maybe bowling later - relaxing with the family who had to spend the last few days virtually without me!
Seriously cool work news may be on the horizon too although all 'in the possible pipeline' moves are afoot for a big change for me - which would be both brill and scary too. Going to get me a new book to scribble my scribbles in to get ready.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

I've been MIA for a couple of months due to a bereavement and my annual trip to the sunshine to warm up my old bones - now I'm back and raring to go.
Have spent some time catching up with the thread - (((hugs))) to all who need them.
Today my 15 minute bursts will be used to tidy up a bit more as I've a new cleaner starting on Monday and I need to find some space rather than piles for her to actually clean! It doesn't help that I've had a tissue in the washing machine incident so there's a pile of clothes waiting to have bits picked off them.
In between the physical tidying, I will be gradually tidying out my email inbox which is out of control again.
greenbee - thanks for mentioning stuffing empty loo roll tubes with shredded paper. I tried making some newspaper firelighters but once on my woodburner the paper wouldn't even light. Will try your method as I hate commercial firelighters as they're not mse or environmentally friendly.
Yesterday OH helped with 4 froggy letters, and we'll have a go at another 3 tomorrow. It will feel so good to catch up properly. I am determined to be well enough to start a part-time income producing activity this year. The goal is for it to happen within the next 6 months.
Watch this space (and watch out world!) ... at last, Ocean's feeling better. Oh dear.

Lovely, thank you!
I had a very rare night out last night. It wasn't a serious binge drinking affair, just a meal with friends. Was very fabulous, but I made the most of the chance to indulge in a few glasses of wine and some Baileys. My head is feeling a little fluffy! For the 1st time in a while, I do not have children this weekend. I am a little lost without them, but know that woolly head or not I need to utilise the time well.
So, today will be all about the flylady! Reading this thread is also motivating me to make a start on the very little business idea I have. I may allow another 10 mins of procrastination 1st though over a hot coffeeOne step at a time0 -
Feeling a bit better today. Still very tired. I got some sock wool from a friend so my sanity should get restored now.
Have been to Finnish school today (DD for a lesson and me for a knit and natter) and at the same time gave my vote (second round of president elections).
Only one thing to do today: get old MS office put back on my laptop and the new one set up on PC. Tomorrow then brush up my CV and send off. If any energy tackle the book mounting.
I have 10 items on fleabay and one of them has 21 watchers :j
Oh I did something stupid yesterday and now the text on MSE is tiny, how can I restore it to the original size please?"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Good day so far: yummy fry up at the local arty cafe courtesy of grumpy husband. Writing is coming on, only 1951 words to do for Monday (well I may well go over the target so it might be a bit more) but all is under control.
Just deciding whether to go to Europe's most giant shopping mall to get out of the house, or sit here and try to do the rest of the work and get it over with??
Decided to try to get the sofa bed, offered the lady £270 - hope she will go for it. Pickup on Weds if it goes well. That would mean we would have a proper sofa bed for the in-laws coming next weekend instead of a scraggy 5 year old futon. It's very low for them as they have arthritis and knee problems, but OH won't let us give them our bed either. :j:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0
