Wow - I step away for 1 day and have almost three pages to catch up on. :p WARNING - Long post ahead

I see that all this chat about subscribing for boxes has a few NBUT members falling off the wagon. Well maybe more like stacking the wagon full of beauty boxes...lol. Remember ladies, stay strong and use the mantras ....Can I afford it? Will I use it? Do you need it?

Crikey Fiasco, I hope this toiletries challenge isn't giving you sleepless nights! Very impressed at you posting at 1.27 am, your Monday night social life must be wilder than mine!

Snipped - Oh if only Helen! My work involves some very anti social hours which is usually followed by me being too wired to sleep.

just had a delivery from Thorntons(Ok nothing to do with toiletries:rotfl:) two hampers inside a large box which was totally open with the bottom falling out:(...when I openned each box the large santa figures were smashed to bits:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: so totally unusable as pressies, have emailed then but as one of the hampers was free if you spent over £45 I don't know what they will do!They also sent it 2 days early so lucky I was in for the delivery man to show that was how he delivered it but no mention of the flowers I ordered from them at the same time....am not a happy bunny ...be warned ladies

Rosemary - I was looking into these hampers (but opted for M & S ones). Lots of posts on the quick thread about similar issues. Poor response times, smashed santas etc. Thorntons have been sending out replacements for the santas but have ran out of that size. Instead they were sending the smaller santa and a reindeer.

Hope you get it resolved quickly.

I have to say I loved your line about being an enabler Fiasco!!

I am the same. I have loved buying makeup/toiletry gifts for friends, and also being asked for advice of what to buy as well :p It's like getting the buzz without the stashing :D

    That is so true Sawan.

Trudij - So sorry to hear what has happened and how it has made you feel so devalued at work. There has been some lovely things already said here about you and they are so true.:grouphug:

Welcome to the newbies and the delurkers - lovely to have you with us.

Errrr I know there was something else I wanted to say but I can't remember .... nope...nothing...it must be coz its late.

Anyhooo - still no more UU's - me no likey :(

well still no reply but did get an email saying my flowers had been dispatched(all items were due today)thye had the whole order on the email unlike the last one when they only put the hampers so maybe I will be getting two more hampers plus the flowers:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:have now wrapped some of the chocs for DS3 and DH to add to their huge pile of pressies by the tree(most of which I have forgotten as bought ages ago)am being very careful going into the office as Dh has a (small:rotfl:) pile of pressies for me in there and do not want to guess what they are.Very oddly one year he had my pressie in the car boot and tho it was wrapped and there was no way I could have seen what it was I some how guessed and it spoilt the surprise and had to act surprised on the day:rotfl:...never told him.(hairdryer by the way)
  • UU N-Spa Hot Butter Fudge bath syrup, had this left over from a set I'd used to make teacher presents. OMG it smells delicious! WIBA? YES! Smells great and didn't make my skin sore and itchy like lots of other bath products do! Win!

Rosemary, I hope you things turn up soon - wouldn't it be lovely if your hampers arrived again?

  • Happy birthday adilade!

    i have a few UU:

    Lavender essential oil - WBA
liz earle muslin cloth - WBA - both of those were UU along with a hell of a lot of porridge and some dried rose petals to make bath bags for a friends xmas present. I made myself one (quality control obv) and they were very nice if i do say so myself :j (if anyone wants the recipe just ask!)

leonor greyl hair oil - WNBA, noticed no difference and had a slightly odd smell.

also had some unexpected INs. apparently i'm a cosmo vip tester. i have no recollection of filling in an online form for this but hey, I'm not complaining! :T

    so IN:
John Frieda full repair shampoo, conditioner, mousse and hair mist.
