No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in December Challenge

Is anyone else half dreading Christmas and the tonnes of toiletries which will inevitably be under the tree from co-workers, cousins etc? I think I shall be doing some regifting this year rather than end up with 6 Benefit makeup boxes - none of which interest me/suit my complexion - again :j
Going to paint my nails today; trying to UU two bottles of spray tan (which is convenient as I'm pasty at the moment) and one half inch of Clinique moisturizer. Also found a Chanel foundation which suits my complexion right now which saves me going out to buy one0 -
apologies if I have reported anyone as spam!as I clicked onto the forum a message came up about me reporting spam!!!!purely unintentional
finally heard from Thorntons and replacements on the way ,tho not Christmas santa as none left so who knows what I may get(or if it will be for both free and paid for hampers)0 -

took me until the summer to run out of shampoo/conditioner this year! but means in the sales i can buy the salon brands gift sets and makes it cheaper - love trevor sorbie, but just the price and size of the bottle that cant afford all the time!
Hi everyone. Am catching up on the thread. nicolax try to make sure you buy the salon gift sets on the sales as I found that they were not such good value at full price. I ended up buying 3 x Umberto Giannini products on the 342 offer rather than buying the gift set as I would have been paying most of the cost of the kit for a mascara. Couldn't figure out why someone would want to pay over the odds for a couple of hair products and get a random mascara thrown in.evilsquid1603 wrote: »Well done! That's great news!
Thank you. Have now left work and looking forward to the break. So did I
So was mine :j:j From Mil & Fil - to be totally honest they gave me boots vouchers for the full amount and I went to our small Boots today and (after much persuading by OH I have to say!) I decided to go for it. But I have balanced it by putting the YouCube gift set I was intending to 'buy' myself from them back into the gift cupboard for one of the neices brithdays later in the year

Valm - congrats on the job
*is off to find out what this philosophy glitch is all about*
Why did you need pursuading sarah? I received a £25.00 Boots gift card as my leaving present which is very much greatly appreciated. One of the girls said "you can get the S&G kit now" however thankfully by then they had all gone from my local Boots. I just won't use all the products but if someone had given them to me I would have been really pleased with the gift - does this make sense? Instead, can't wait to get onto the sales - do "need" some new fragrance.
Thanks for the Congrats. I'm finally getting back to doing the job I used to love and working with the same person.
Find any Philosophy goodies?Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

thank you for all the birthday wishes
had a bit of a makeup clear out and decided to throw away a few things:
avon kajalstick- this stays on for about 5 minutes before disappearing, I have used half of it
avon eyeshadow pencil- I've had this for about 3 years, I haven't used it so there's no point keeping it
avon lipstick-it's the wrong colour, no point keeping it
collection 2000 mineral powder- I've had this for 4 years I think:eek: even after using it quite a lot, it just never seems to finish!
life's too short to force myself to use makeup that I don't like
Happy belated birthday from me too adilade. A good declutter is as good as a UU!Is anyone else half dreading Christmas and the tonnes of toiletries which will inevitably be under the tree from co-workers, cousins etc? I think I shall be doing some regifting this year rather than end up with 6 Benefit makeup boxes - none of which interest me/suit my complexion - again :j
Errrm no! I know I'm supposed to be a reformed character but the thought of not receiving any toiletries at Christmas is enough to make me weep! I know I'm getting the latest Laura Geller TSV and a gift set of Sephora by OPI nail lacquers from the US which I'm dying to try. I also walked in on MrM on the PC yesterday morning looking at Beauty Expert and he's told me that whatever he ordered from there has not arrived and he has been let down. He's said that he has been on a mission to get me this item elsewhere and still needs to go out tomorrow searching for it. Please please please let it be some Elemis PCMC as I am on the last little bit of it.
So UUs to report:-
30ml tub of Elemis PCMC. I have the last splutterings of a 15ml tube left and then it's the end of the World practically! (unless MrM has bought me some). I do have other moisturisers in my stash so my face is not likely to dry out any time soon! lol
Bottle of Superdrug Vitamin E oil - WNBA. It was ok but I prefer an oil with fragrance in it.
I got a box of Boots Extracts body butters from my SS at work.
Haven't bought anything cosmetic wise for myself lately although did buy a bottle of Mandara Spa hand cream for the ladies at work as a thank you gift. I had jokingly said I would leave my bottle of S&G Hand Food behind as my legacy however when I used some this week it smelt like it had gone off so I have replaced it with a new bottle for them all. Thought it was better than buying them more chocolates/biscuits/cakes which they are already inundated with and wouldn't have been able to eat in time.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Thanks Rosemary! That made me smile, I can remember Frank Kelly doing it on Top of the Pops one year - Ken Bruce played it this week.
I've just realised I haven't bought as many toiletries as I usually do as gifts. My son won a Gillette gift set in a 'Best Joke' competition at work, and was given a Mr Grumpy soap on a rope by his line manager... A grumpy person who likes to make others laugh? Pity Jack Dee got there first as he could have had an alternative career.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
