    Good afternoon everyone,

I haven't had time to keep up with the daily threads lately. I job share with another girl and she's taking some leave so I've been covering for her as well as getting on with life at home..........so, sorry if I've missed anything important. I hope you are all well.

I have the two boys at home today; ds1 has a teacher training day and ds2 isn’t well. He's been sneezing for a couple of days but he did a lot of moaning and coughing during the night and has had an up and down temperature…..so I thought it best that he stayed here. Needless to say, he's as right as rain and really should have been in school. Am I the only one that always gets these decisions wrong?

I did a stupid thing last week...In a moment of madness I committed myself to the flylady thread. I hate cleaning and I'm rubbish at throwing things away so I'm finding it hard going. Thankfully we live in a bungalow so no stairs or landing to do today, but I'm wading my way through the dust around the pc. Oh well, I’d better get on with it.

I hope you all have a good day.

Ps Just been looking at the pics on the Who's who thread.....You all look lovely! I'm afraid I'm not brave enough to post.

I've had such a lovely day! Whizzed through all the housework this morning and had an empty laundry basket, sorted out tonights tea, went up to sort the cupboard under the stairs and got kidnapped by a frisky husband instead so I finished doing the cupboard 30 minutes later. Then I decided to walk into town and look for a jacket and some jumpers.

I came back with 1 jacket, 1 jumper, 1 box of 48 x nik-naks (cream & cheesy flavour I am addicted to them) 1 catering box of Carrs cracker biscuits. 2 kingsize quilt covers, 2 boxes of Weeto's, 1 large toblerone, 18 penguin bars, 8 x Dolmio pasta sauces, 1 pk toilet wipes, 2 x 1000 piece jigsaws and 4 bags of chocolate coins from Thorntons and I only spent £32.

I was very good and took my trolley too so it only cost me 70p for the trip home on the bus :D
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    F U Fund currently at £250

morning stef ... OH's family is all over the netherlands, but his parents live in a small village between Leiden and Utrecht. Nice part of the country, i like it very much. Not sure where Beverwijk is myself but OH sais he knows where it is. Heiloo? not sure about that one. ahhh its Heilo, we just looked it up on google, its further north than Beverwijk.

good luck with your daughter's hearing test - its something i know the importance of!

  • Good Afternoon!

I'm afraid it's a bit of an anti-climax. The good news is that I didn't have any chemo today. However, I have to have a different type of scan to see if there are any active cancer cells in my body. This will be either next Monday or the one after. I will get the results on Feb. 21st, so another three weeks in limboland.
Sorry, I can't write much more, but I hope everybody is well and having a good day.

kethry we lived in a similar sounding area when we were first married and we didn't realise how much our sleep was affected until we moved to somewhere deathly quiet. We had to sleep with the landing light on for a few weeks until we got used to no street lights or noise. LOL

it doesn't affect me too badly, at least, not directly, if i want to go to sleep i go to sleep, as without my hearing aids you'd have to be blowing a trumpet directly in my ear to wake me up!! It does affect my OH though, and that has a knock on effect on me. However, the area in which we live, i think there're always going to be the occasional disturbances (lets just say the area we live in got awarded that huge big supercasino yesterday, which will be just down the road from us!), although its better than where we used to live. The biggest problem is being in flats, we're more at the mercy of direct neighbours than if we were in a house, being surrounded by 3 neighbours as opposed to 2. To be honest, 2 of them are great - one is a middleaged care worker who needs her sleep, the other is an elderly gentleman who just lives quietly, its the idiot who lives directly overhead who causes trouble, and if they do manage to evict him we'll all be really happy. just hope they don't replace him with someone worse.

still, if we ever do manage to move and its to somewhere quiet, i'll remember the landing light trick... LOL.. thanks!

OH phoned in the repair to the emergency repairs service with the housing before we went to sleep.. they were rather incredulous on the phone but agreed to send someone round. by the time we'd gotten up we found that they had been round, and had fixed one of the locks on the door, its substantially weaker though, as half the front part of the door has been ripped away to expose the hollow behind the front part, and in the process, disabling the good lock that we rely on to keep the idiots out (unfortunately the communal front door cannot be seen from the road, is *very* sheltered, and thus is a magnet for those wishing to do things that they shouldn't be doing, like smoking dope). The good news is that we were slated anyway to get a steel door with proper entry phones, and the lack of a proper, stable door there may speed up how fast we get that.

    what a day...

thanks for all the good wishes, everyone.. :grouphug: to those who need em.

Good Afternoon All - hope we are well

Not had chance to read rest of today's thread from this morning, just got home from work, trying to flick round with the hoover, as OH announced this afternoon that his sister is coming at 4pm to vist

Had 2 ebay listings pulled this morning morning  Ive got or did have 22 items listed, all using the same terms & conditions, and because I mentioned payment method - cheque/paypal/postal order, etc, I also added cash - send at your own risk, but send recorded delivery to be safe. And because of this, they pulled 2 items off, saying its against their payment method policy! Why just the 2 - and not the rest. Ive been usuing the same script for nearly 2yrs now. So why just pick up on it now - unless some sad git, looked and noticed it and reported me. Anyway before work I revised the rest of the items and deleted that wording! Will re-list them tonight. They was only handmade card toppers I made myself, so it was nothing dodgy!

Good news ref FIL, He is under going further scans on the brain & chest today, they have given more medication to reduce the swelling of the tumors, and now they are talking to find the best possible method of treatment ref this cancer, and have talked about what benfefits he will be entitled to "when" he comes home. Its still a time bomb waiting to go off and could happen anytime, but obviously they dont seem to concern if they're talking about him coming home. (unless they need the bed - which nothing surprises me with NHS) - Will keep you posted. :j but IMO this sounds good!

Right best go and crack on, will be back later
    Take care for now
    Love as usual

Washing is on line and dishes have been done.

Went to Sainsbury's and bough a load of dried beans, lentils and chick peas - at checkout had "won" a bundle of asparagus so picked it up before i forgot.

Might make a pasta dish with asparagus, peppers, onions and cheese sauce for tea.

DH is waiting for the car to be returned from its service so is on his laptop next to me.

PP - My dd wants her hair highlighted, she is already blond but quite dark, I have said no up until now but am now thinking I might be able to use it to my advantage. Praps if she can improve herself - looking after herself a bit better (getting her to shower is a nightmare) tidying her bedroom (myself & OH have refused to go in there for a week - its a pigsty) and wearing her brace if she knows that she can have her hair done if she keeps it up. Mmmn will think about that one. She's 11.5.

Math - DD's proposed hairstyle was mine until recently - think it would be perfect. Also was surprised at your pictures - think when you said you were fat man after too many icecreams last year that you actually were. Hope you read that the way Im thinking it - or am I digging a very big hole!:rotfl:

Blairweech - since keeping a spending diary this year OH & myself cant belive how much we spend - it is a least double what we reckoned. Its the small things that really add up.

Had a nice day today. College was good didnt make posh coffee shop as it was full so made do with cappacino in the Wimpy. Lovely and sunny but very cold - just about to have a bath as builder coming later to price up knocking doors through from kitchen to dining room. (not that I smell but I normally have a bath the time the builder is coming.)

Hoping to convince DD to make dinner with me, it involves dipping chicken in egg then seasoned flour and I hate doing it. Also she tends to eat her dinner if she's helped. Added bonus is that she will be doing things with us as well as at the moment she disappears into her bedroom as soon as she gets home.

    Catch you later.
