Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you have *I is a fat man* as your sig for a few weeks earlier in the year?

    Penny. x

Yup! and I was. I steadily gained 1 1/2 stones since I stopped smoking but since August have managed to loose it:j When you're only 5'5 that sort of weight makes a big difference. The first photo was before the weight gain and the second after I had lost it. I shall not be posting and photos of the 'in between' ;)

Evening all, busy, busy day at work today. The kids are hyper, Ds1 in particular - I will go and quiet them down after Emmerdale.
Tidied up and pulled a chicken out of the freezer so it's chicken, salad and baked pots soon.
Got some filing to do tonight and uniforms to get ready. Also a nice hot bath is on the cards.
The piccie thread is fab, it's nice to put faces to names.
Have a good night all, Smoky. xxxxx

Well you lot on Who's Who - aren't you a bonny gang, as well as any offspring creeping on there. I love you all to bits.

Really tired tonight as I had to stay until after 6.00. When you are in at 8.15 am it makes it a long day! However, DH had a G&T ready for me when I got home. The upside is that I get time off in lieu which helps to augment my (as I feel) stingy leave allowance! I suppose I am fortunate in that I appreciate the time off rather than O/time as money not quite such an issue for us now.

Will still keep my eye on you lot tonight - I can feeling something brewing I think!

As far as I am aware, they can break down the door if they believe that a crime is in progress, or they believe that harm can / is coming to residents within. Hence why they can break down the door if the neighbours have reported Mr Hibbert sight unseen for 9 days and there's a strange smell coming from his flat / house and there's no answer when they knock.

Fairly disturbing to be woken up by the police battering in the door. I think that you can ring the local station and report the unsecured door, especially if you have nuisance youths causing you problems.

hi Mice_Elf, thanks for the post... i had a feeling it was crime in progress/harm coming to someone within. given that he was threatening to commit suicide at 3am to my OH, we reckon that's what happened - its happened before, last time he called an ambulance, which went down *really* well with the ambulance guys, given that he'd done some minor scratches on his arms. Not exactly life threatening. A friend of his came round about an hour ago and OH told the friend what had happened and the idiot upstairs denied knowing anything about it.. *sighs*.. i really will be glad to see the back of him, if the housing do manage to get him out (they've been trying to get rid of him for years but he always stays *just* the right side of the line, while still causing trouble for everyone around him).

and yeah.. fairly disturbing isn't in it!  the door is secured now (by the housing), sort of, so we'll just have to wait for the steel door to be put in.

    thanks for the info though!!

Hmmm I've just been looking into the cost of doing a one year masters degree and have worked out that (based on staying at the same level of rent/outgoings I am at the minute, which is living comfortably but frugally) I will need £15,000 for the year (including fees, rent etc)

I now need to work out how much I want to follow this career path... It's a Human Resources Masters degree that i want to take, which includes CIPD graduate status at the end of it. I could either do this postgrad degree and get a higher end job, or get a low-end job and work my way up... Unfortunately CIPD qualification is pretty much essential in order to apply for any job in my chosen sector... I wouldn't be entitled to any grants etc so would have to self-fund...

I guess I have a few pretty big decisions to make soon...

Popping in to say goodnight. And to tell you about my tortillas (made with the recipe from More with Less). They were very easy - the hardest part was rolling them out, but unless you can make a couple of batches and freeze them, its just not worth the effort.

When I was making them, OH instigated a food fight. He won by default because he managed to tip a whole bag of flour over me (he has a distinct advantage being 3 times my size! :)). It was all good fun, except then I managed to knock over the bottle of oil on the side... all onto the flour covered floor

I let OH clear it up whilst I went and had a nice relaxing bath :D

Anyway, am off to bed now because I have to be up at half 6 tomorrow morning  (I know this is the middle of the day for some of you, but since I've been unemployed I've mostly been getting up around 1.00 in the afternoon...)
