  • Afternoon Guys!

Well the cleaners have been and gone and am very happy:D Took about 10 mins to straighten things up after they went but overall am best pleased:T :j  :T :j  ....can you tell Im happy;) They were a mum and daughter team and worked well together. I have never seen someone iron so fast and properly..it was quite scary actually:eek:    They were both very polite and apparently her auntie had Lupus but she died last year:eek:     :rotfl: .....thanks:D....dont you just love people like that:D

Can anyone suggest a good method (apart from vinegar) for non streak floor moping on a wooden style laminate floor. It looks quite streaky today but maybe the water wasnt hot enough:confused:

MATH-Do you want to come and look at my microfibre cloths?;) :D:p

OH has gone to get DD, so they will be back soon. Im totally knackered and am off to rest and watch Eastenders from last night.

    Hugs to all.

I use Stardrops, but with very hot water (usually from kettle as our hot water from taps is useless without "boosting" it for an hour!) Never noticed any streaks, but don't really inspect it, and it's a grainy-looking laminate anyway

no idea why the police went through the door - they can usually only do that if there's a crime in progress or they have a warrant, right?

As far as I am aware, they can break down the door if they believe that a crime is in progress, or they believe that harm can / is coming to residents within. Hence why they can break down the door if the neighbours have reported Mr Hibbert sight unseen for 9 days and there's a strange smell coming from his flat / house and there's no answer when they knock.

Fairly disturbing to be woken up by the police battering in the door. I think that you can ring the local station and report the unsecured door, especially if you have nuisance youths causing you problems.

Relatively normal day here thus far...went into town directly after breakfast to post a Ebay parcel to someone in America (cost £15! fortunately I'd factored in enough on my P&P costs to cover it on the auction). After the post office, we nipped round to pick up some rabbit food (didn't realise that we were quite so low as OH usually puts them away at night but last night I did and realised that we wouldn't have enough to get us to the weekend! Thanks for telling me, dear! :D ). After rabbit food we went round to my brother's to check on his cats. Saw 2 of the 3, only seen the 3rd once....better at hiding than your average mole in a dark room. :D

After that we nipped up to the aquarium place to get some vegetation for my goldfish as the tank is looking a bit bare and the fish are holding up placards objecting to the lack of greenery. :) Daughter was fascinated by the "big fish" (Koi) in a huge pond there.

After THAT we came home - the last bit of the journey in a rush as Daughter wanted the potty - "quick-quick Mummy....potty....poooooo!" Made it through the door in time though! :D Phew! No car cleaning for me. :)

Lunch and apply for a couple of jobs for me. Have an interview on Friday for one, but it's a part time job for every afternoon and my mum doesn't want to babysit every afternoon, so will have to look into childcare, providing it isn't too expensive. No point in me working to pay a nursery / childminder! Mum would be alright with 3 afternoons, so it would just need to be someone for 2. Am sure that's manageable. :)

Daughter is now upstairs sleeping and I'm having a coffee and a little bit of a sit down before hanging out the next load of washing and cleaning the dining room. Whole downstairs needs a bit of a vacuum as well...the joys of having 4 cats. :D

Speaking of which...came downstairs this morning to discover a little present, courtesy of a grateful puss....a dead mouse on the rug in the dining room. Thanks for that. Not only dead, but obviously attacked by the wall as there was blood spattered and squished into the wall. So I had a fun time cleaning that up while trying to fend of Daughter's helpful attempts to clean with me. :) "What's THAT, mummy?" and "Carpet dirty". Yes....yes it is. :)

Think that's about it so far. :)

When Daughter wakes up I have to go over to my mum's to take a keyboard, USB cable and mouse and meet my OH there so that he can sort out her cabling now that the fax line has been moved.

I would love a day at home!!! :D

PP, Glad to see you're feeling better. I don't have laminate floors so I've got no first hand experience but there are lots of tips here.

I've had such a lovely day! Whizzed through all the housework this morning and had an empty laundry basket, sorted out tonights tea, went up to sort the cupboard under the stairs and got kidnapped by a frisky husband instead so I finished doing the cupboard 30 minutes later. Then I decided to walk into town and look for a jacket and some jumpers.

I hope you got some clothes under the mattress so that the ironing got done aswel... :naughty:

    Multi-tasking at its best :rotfl:

Today I have got jack-all done as this place is too goddam addictive!! :rotfl: Towels have just finished drying so will remove them and put them away, then get a white wash on :) No ironing or uni work done yet... Most uni work is reading so will probably do that curled up in bed later on :) However have got my Moroccan Lamb Stew in the SC and it smells delicious!!! I loosely based it on the recipe on the SC Recipe Thread, but couldn't find "Moroccan Style Lamb Chops" so have just doused some ordinary lamb in spices (Turmeric, Ground Cumin Powder, Mixed Spices and Cayenne Pepper)... hope it turns out well!!

Anyway best get on before OH gets back and thinks that I've done nothing all day :rotfl:

Afternoon all. Another busy day at work-lots of supervising students with projects, and preparing my 2 hour  lecture for tomorrow. I have trouble concentrating for that long, so goodness knows how the poor students will manage :rotfl:

My references for my little flat are being checked *crosses fingers, eyes, toes, legs*

CrazyChik-so sorry to read about your exFIL. Hang in there.

Hugs to all else that need them.:grouphug:

Think i will leave work early around 5. Got lots of washing to do, and going to start decluttering and sorting for moving. Fennel and Parmasan risotto for tea. Yum yum pigs bum.

Moggins you wee devil! I think I might need to pop home for lunch one day soon!

Crazychick So glad to get the update re XFIL. There certainly seems to be some positive moves there if looking at treatment.

Seroxat-chick Maybe as well caution about more chemo just now until you have had a further scan. I know it will be agonising to have to wait but in the long run hopefully will give a better prognosis of where to go next.

Hugs and kisses to all of those need them today.

Will keep an eye on you lot!

    Hi everyone.

anniebooklover Sorry I posted this late last night on yesterday's thread

    Inside out pizza is

1.Fry onion, pepper, garlic, tin toms, tom puree, etc or use jar of Ragu/similar
2.Then put mixture inbetween 2 tortilla wraps with grated cheese. Fry for 3 mins and flip over carefully and fry other side for 3 mins.
3.Remove and slice like a pizza.
I usually make a batch of the tom mixture and freeze for quick easy meals. We usually have a packet of Aldi tortilla wraps with 6 in and that makes 3 pizzas to share between 4 of us. Leftovers can be eaten cold in packed lunches

I'm feeling a bit icky today as I've finally got a cold.
I've not done too badly as everyone else around me has had one. It's my first since the Summer and as I'm always surrounded by kids at home, work and church, I'm surprised I haven't been ill before now!
Unfortunately I'm in work tomorrow so I'll dose myself up first.
