Taplady I bought a sonic grenade to sort my DS out! I only had to use it for 3 days and he's now getting up when I call him :D It cost me £9.99 but it was worth every penny for the frustration factor :D

    :)

never heard of one of these Moggins:confused: I think a real grenade might be more appropriate:rolleyes: :D

donny-gal - thanks for the ideas! grounding works ok but its hard not to give in under pressure! as for TV, they dont watch it - too busy on the internet, might have to ban that instead:eek: they wont like that!:D

    Afternoon all

OOOOhhhh MATH - I'm not sure you should have put that piccy up - I think you'll be getting lots of offers to pop round and "look at my microfibre cloths" now!!!

Hugs to those in need and happy birthday to anyone celebrating.

Just had a couple of MS jobs through - nice fees so that's perked me up a bit - also just had a nice payout from Quidco of £147 :j - still got £37 pending so I'm very pleased I used it now!

Been feeling a bit icky this week - it's my first month of taking the Clomid fertility drug and I seem to be having every side effect listed on the packet (typical) But it's saved me going out and spending any money - in fact I found a huge bag of wool in the cupboard and I've nearly finished crocheting a throw for DD1's bed.

DH got paid with his new payrise in effect so the bank account looked very healthy for ooooooooh about 20 mins....All the banking is done, made a few phone calls that needed doing and thrust my hand blindly into the freezer for something for tea (sausages) Got some stewing steak out for tomorrow - something nice and easy as I need to get some ebay stuff sorted - this lot is all clothes - they're all clean but need ironing, measuring, photographing etc then I can get them listed and try and make some extra money this month towards DD1's residential trip (£200 for 5 days in France - didn't seem to bad). Got the £200 saved - need some for spending money and to kit her out with all the stuff she'll need (list is coming home next week  )

Hope you've all had a productive morning and have a wonderous afternoon. :T

  • Hi everyone,

It's been really busy here at work, but not too busy that I can't log on and say a quick hello.

I've been invited to a new WI meeting for 20 - 40's in Central London next month. I'm really looking forward to it.

Does anyone else attend a WI meeting? If so I'd like your feedback.

anyway, loads to do, probably see you all again tomorrow.

    Hi everyone!
Sorry haven't read through yet but hugs to those who need them.
I had an old style dream last night that in order to save the cost of holidays we were all on a house swap rota for a week at a time. The rules were that each participant had to prepare a weekly menu for their visitors and a file of cheap and thrifty things to do in the area. You were also meant to fill your freezer with HM cakes for your visitors HM lunches. When you were staying in someone else's house it was agreed that you would log onto Moggins flylady challenge daily and carry out the tasks so everyone came back to a house as clean as they left it!! At that point a certain little tortoiseshell moggy stomped all over me and woke me up. How bizarre!!
Moggins- I've just noticed your question about OH. He makes beautiful but very expensive dollshouse furniture. We don't have a web site at present although I'm learning how to build one. Have you tried the books by Venus and Martin Dodge- they have loads of really good stuff to make in them and you should be able to get them from the library.
OS today has been floor washing and I've conned OH into getting fish and chips for tea tonight as I think we could all do with a treat. Will need to get my shopping list done as have now done my Feb monthly menu.
Beyond that Ray Mears and then another early night as am still failing dismally to shift this blooming cold.
    Have a great day folks!

Afternoon - just popping on for a tea break. Ironing done, flapjacks made and chicken has been dissected and the stock made. Am just about to go make tortillas for the enchiladas (my first time making them :) )

Have managed to convince OH to use this spending diary, but he seems to be having some problems understanding the whole concept

OH: 'You mean we have to write everything down?'
    Me: Yes
    OH: 'Everything?
    Me: Yes, everything
OH: Even the little things, like a bar of chocolate?
Me: Yes, even all those little things. They matter the most.

    And so on...

rchddap - Sorry, I may have missed it due to not being around last week, but how did your daughter's hearing test go?
