yes this is what I did as I missed out on the £50 but waited until my account was up and running then went via quidco for the savers account and bagged the £30.

  • I was asked to have a look at this thread by a user who was concerned about someone pm'ing computerwoman.

I have no idea of the contents of the pm and as I'm not a Board Guide on this board in effect its nothing to do with me but I also know that nearlyrich is busy at the moment with family so I'm going to take it on myself to answer here.

When the Reclaim Bank Charges board was set up I did have BG powers on this board for a few weeks to enable me to move threads and sort things out. Also at that time First Direct announced they were starting to charge for their current accounts which made this particular board very busy with multiple threads starting on the same subject. I spent a morning merging these threads as users were, quite rightly, complaining.

I have quickly read through this thread and the Recent CitiBank thread and as I see the "problem" is the threads are overlapping with questions being asked in both which leaves users not knowing where they should ask their question or having to read two threads for an answer.

I don't mean to offend anyone but the thread title of New The Citibank Club doesn't sound like a thread that will in effect help users with their dealings/opening an account with Citibank so perhaps the two threads could be merged and a new title given to the merged thread, then the very helpful information in both threads will be easily accessed by everyone.

Now, will someone please hit the report this post in my post which will mean the thread will be brought to the attention of the abuse team for their consideration!

    :D

  • Can I join:D

I applied and was successful. No income as such, just benefits crediting the account. I am still quite dubious about this and have moved over some cash but am abit hesitant about switching my direct debits over as I still feel that this is all to easy:confused:

I dont have bad credit but not being able to work, I thought a full facility new bank account wouldnt be aimable. I do already have a full bank account with The Woolwich with a £100 overdraft but as they are closing all their banks down and switching to Barclays, I am unsure if they will close the account down as Im not crediting as much as I was 3 years ago.

I have printed a form out from Citibank website to give permission to The Woolwich to send Citibank a list of all my dd's and so's, then they contact me and ask whihc ones I want to change over, then I think this takes a few weeks to sort out/set up-is this true?

ATM, I am also keeping all the payments from benefits to The Woolwich account, then I will transfer any monies over to Citibank as I dont want anything cocked up at the moment.

  • Hi All

I've been lurking round this forum for about a month now and have been reading the Citibank posts with avid interest ..

Anyway, 2 weeks ago I decided to take the plunge and apply for a citibank account .. and I honestly thought I have a cat in hells chance of getting it.

I currently use the Co-op Cashminder account and had recently applied for a couple of credit cards and a mail order account but had been turned down due to a lack of credit history (as I've not had any loans or credit cards for quite a some years now)

As it goes .. I got back my ID back from Citibank last week (for those of you currently applying, I only sent them a Council Tax Bill and a BT bill plus a letter stating I didn't have a cheque book) and today I have received my Welcome Pack ... which says my card and PINS will follow. :T

Looking foward to seeing which card I get but decided to join the forum to say thanks to those of you who told us about the account and spurred others on to join ... So THANK YOU .... :j
