Is this because you require a cheque book & overdraft? If its just a proper Visa debit card you're after, then go ahead and apply. I'm only crediting just under £1000pm and have still been accepted. On the original thread various posters have been offered various things. There appears to even be one poster on there who has been given a 3 in 1 card and is not pulling any salary at all if I've read correctly. I'm waiting to see which card arrives as I only got my pin numbers yesterday.0 -
I'm loving CitiBank although only received welcome letter and PIN numbers yesterday. How long does it usually take to get the card? Its just that I would like to transfer all my money over to this new account tonight as have lots of charges going out tomorrow - am claiming them back! And I believe that I can't do this until I have the card registered - please correct me if I am wrong!0

Some information you may find useful about this account:

3. As they have no `High Street` branches, deposits can be made at any Branch of Lloyds TSB I believe, but I think it takes five days for the funds to show.
Citibank UK has actually five High Street Branches:

The four London branches are full service branches while the Manchester branch is not.
You are right about the deposits via Lloyds TSB, I've never done it though so I cannot comment on it.

Remember, if you are paying in via Lloyds TSB, you will need either a cheque book or a paying in book. Neither of these are offered automatically.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0

First off , i'd like to again say a big thanks to sgx and cw , without their posts i wouldnt have bothered applying , but i did , and we are now proud owners of a proper C/A , so natwest can shove their step account.(after they've refunded my charges of course!!:D
I , too , nominated sgx for post of the month , well deserved i reckon!!
Cards came this morning....cant see anything on them about being c.g card , so i guess theyre just debit , but thats fine with us.Lovin' citibank , friendly and helpful.....SOOOO different than natwest!!
sam.x:T Thanks to all the comps posters :T0 -
Hi and welcome to you all for joining the citibank club, just been out to the HSBC to sort my sons bank out because I rang them this morning they said it was a security breach and locked the account down, so we had to drudge down to the bank to sort it out, so guess what I've just done for him, yep you've guessed it quidco and citibank here comes another member, my son is only on £71.85p a week and I've just signed him up for an account and I only get £86.75 a week and I've got the 3 in 1 card with cheque book not that I'll ever need it, the CB that is, so I dont think it matters what money you have coming in as long as you dont get the over draft, as its £500 on offer at £1000 for the 1st year then goes back to £500 after that, just go for it they can only say 1 of 2 things yes or no, but my betting is that they'll say yes, and you normally get your card the day after your pins or at least I did, hope this helps. I also asked HSBC if my son could have a nice new visa card and they said after they had done some security checks if it panned out then yes, but he would have to apply for the visa as a new account, I said we'll think about it, once outside the bank I told him it would easier to do it with citibank and get £50 cashback with quidco for him.
good luck to everyone who's waiting to here, and welcome to the club for those of you have been admitted.

We are in the process of opening a citibank savings account.
The ID process was easy, they needed an original bill with our names on which was returned within a week.
Over a two week period, I'd say we got that back, the cashpoint cards and pins.
I've just ordered stationary which seems easy, paying in book and envelopes.
The only problem I have is I find the layout of the website very difficult and it times out very quickly.
But I can live with that.0 -
i dont mean to sound dour but we dont want to get obsessed with citi bank now do we....For everthing else there's mastercard.
