Not a happy customer this morning!

1st None of my standing orders have been paid so far,

2nd I have been on hold for over 10 minutes trying to get through to telephone banking. Oh got answered after 13mins then ws greeted with message " The other person has cleared"

3rd Tax has been deducted from my account
    28-02 TAX DEDUCTED
    UK£ 0.01 UK£ X,XXX.XX

On the othe hand I did get a credit

    28-02 INTEREST TAXABLE
    UK£ 0.06 UK£ x,xxx.xx

    Update

Got through to the call centre, very helpful gentleman explained that Standing Orders remain unpaid until the close of banking day. I asked why this was the case. Prompt reply we do this to allow us customers to get the most of there money. Ie Interest,

So my SO will be paid! Thank the lord

I also asked if they where very busy, Oh No was his reply. So no reason for the long delay in getting through

Hi marcellep sorry to hear your having abit of trouble, I have 1 S/O for the water board started going out last thursday, and its for every week, and has gone out no probs, just noticed "interest taxable"£0.01p " you got 5p more than me, lol that was on the £11.77 left in my account as of yesterday, so most remember to get all my DD's changed now to go out on the 2nd of the month instead of the 27/28th then I should get some bigger interest, next month, and try not to spend any money until the 1st of april, think I could do that, hope I can do that. then I might get even bigger interest at the end of this month, how hard can it be not to spend money, humm.

This might be some help to people

    4. Interest

4.1. Interest on any cleared credit balance is calculated on a daily basis.

4.2 Interest on any cleared credit balance is compounded monthly and is applied to the account monthly.

4.3 Interest will be paid on any cheques from the day they are received by Citibank (excluding foreign collection cheques), or cheques paid into a Lloyds TSB Branch.

I still dont get this interest lark, I have had over £1000 in my bank this month, yet I get 1p interest on what was left in yesterday, thats why I want to leave as much as I can in for the end of this month, although I have to pay £50 out tomorrow, and £65 next week for the mobiles but then that should be it until the end of the month, if I can get my DD's changed for the 2nd of the month which shouldn't be that difficult, as they all go out on 27-28th anyway, so a couple of days isnt gonna matter much, I shouldn't think so anyway.

I dont fully understand it either, I had in excess of £4000 in my account and I only got 6p. I asume that they calculate it on the balance on the last day of the month. In That case I have Just over £2k in my account.

I have message them to ask how the interest is calculated and asked for a full breakdown to allow me to understand.
