On Thursday I transferred £250 from my Citi account to a savings account held with another bank. I wasn't going into town and thought it would be easier. However, Citi do not process these instructions until after 5pm. I had cause to go into town after all so withdrew the £250 at an ATM and lodged it into my branch. I thought, "as the money is no longer there the funds transfer would just not go ahead."

    I was wrong.

Logged in today to find a £25 unpaid Standing Order Charge on my account which I argued to be refunded as an ad hoc payment is not a Standing Order. The money will be in my account within 48 hours.

    Won't be doing that again!

my SIL got a letter off them as she had put the wrong ref number on but she was transfering it from citi - halifax...but they said as it was the first time she had done this they wouldn't charge anything this time but in future it would be £25 so I thought that was pretty nice of them although very wrong at the same time...

I just thought it was a bit daft he kept insisting it was a standing order that could not be sent.

After having a Citibank account since the start of the year I applied in June for a Halifax account and I was accepted with an overdraft! I know people complain but everything has gone swimmingly so far and there is a call centre in my own town so i don't have to struggle!

I'll keep the Citi account open though (just in case)

me too...I got the citi account in january and also the halifax account which I use for things such as quidco...but if I need to go in there is a halifax in the middle of town I think the nearest citibank is to me would be manchester which is quite away ...away...but I love my citi account...:D

  • I have had my Citi Account as a secondary Account for the past 8 months. Very proud indeed to get the VISA card once again and begin building my credit history. HOWEVER, I'm finding it being refused via chip and pin more and more even though I have more than enough cleared funds!

..It's clearly getting very embarrasing . The card now firmly stays in my pocket.

Shall we create a list of companies and services which 'don't like' the Citi Visa card so together we can avoid bringing out our cards in these places...
