If you have applied on the internet, you will receive a confirmation e-mail thanking you for your application. A paper application form arrives in the post, normally within a few days, asking you to provide proof of name and address (normally a bank statement or utility bill will do) dated within the last 3 months and a cheque for an initial deposit.
If you want to make use of up to £500 overdraft, enclose your most recent payslip.
Remember: You need to tick the box if you DON'T want an overdraft!
Well, I filled in the form, then forgot to print it off, when I came back to the form it had timed out. Now, I'm fairly sure I clicked on print form rather than submit form. Does that mean I need to fill it in again?dexters_mum wrote: »Help, I don't have a cheque book!
Simply provide a secondary form of ID, such as a colour photocopy of your photo page on your passport and send with your other ID and a cover letter stating you don't have access to a cheque book.
I don't have a cheque book either, does this mean I don't need to send them £1 to open the account with, as long as I send a colour copy of my passport?
Why colour, won't a b/w copy be good enough? It was enough for the credit rating companies.dexters_mum wrote: »Any freebies?
Not from Citibank itself for account opening but go via Quidco for £50 cashback! after your account is up and running, you can refer a friend via the Citibank website and get both you and your friend 6 bottles of wine.
N.B The free iPod Nano offer has now finished.....
I didn't go with quidco, cos I didn't think it through :mad:dexters_mum wrote: »Is it an outsourced call centre?
Yes, but the staff are very good and have a competant level of English to be able to communicate and understand effectively, unlike some call centres!
Well, I just rang them about the application form to see if they could send me an email with it in so I could print it and send it to them, the woman stated I wouldn't need to as it would be sent out. Thing is, I didn't tell her that I didn't submit it.
Also, I was thinking about just setting up a DD on my LLoyds/TSB account to shift in around £250-300 a month into this account leavint the LLoyds one with all the DD's/SO's/salary. But I'm now thinking it might be advantageous to shift it all around and have my salary paid into this Citibank account (when set up) and then pay a large chunk into my LLoyds account.
Thanks,

just wondering, can you get cashback with the citi debit card, as I was in a shop yesterday, spar garage, and the atm was out of order, so I went into the garage and asked if they did cashback they said no but I could still get some shopping and pay with the card, which I did, and lidl also let me pay with the card but refused cashback, just wondered if anyone had got cashback with this card as I am sure you are supposed to be able to,
confused

Yes, I often get cashback with my Citibank Visa Debit card, I think it depends on the shop. As the spar or the co-op does cashback but not the londis by us. Perhaps someone more knowledgable will know the reason why!0
