  • I have just called them and asked for a copy of my contract they said because I took it out with CPWarehouse they don't have it so I would have to go to car phone to get it, I asked who I had a contract with and funnily enough he couldn’t tell me. Looks like there in a bit of pickle over at Orange.

I also asked the burning question “If inflation reduces will my bill follow suite”?? Go told a big No to that question. Don't mistake this for a company that puts prices up to keep float like your local baker we all understand that and don't mind.

They asked their lawyers to find a way to make more money and they did.. expect your bill to keep rising they have opened the flood gates.

I am just writing an email I am going to send it to all there Chief executives I will post responses. I ain’t stopping until I get justice.

If you can afford a £40 a month mobile contract I'm sure you can afford an extra pound, Orange haven't ever raised their prices and in real terms mobile contracts are far cheaper than they've ever been

so if you go shopping and your grocery bill is £100, what would you say if they said if you can afford £100 then you can afford £105 and you didn't get a say in it.
  • buxb05 - you have what all the other moaners lack.....spirit! In a fair market place, we'd all just move to another supplier but they are all operating a cartel that needs breaking up (and will be in my opinion)

If your contract is with CarPhone and not Orange, why is it Orange are telling you about the rise? How do they know the details of your agreement and what to text you? Typical b**sh*t, they don't want to help you and will fob you off any which way the pillok on front line support can see fit.

It's an interesting point about inflation, as I expect us to hit a period of deflation Q3 2012 onwards, so we'll all obviously be paying less for petrol, domestic energy and mobile phones. Yeah right
  • Although the increase will not have a huge hit on my wallet, I hope it will give me a chance to get out of my contract. For the past year (since moving) my home signal is absolutely non existent  I appreciate that the Orange t & c's cover signal issues but it did'nt cover me missing out on some overtime at the weekend because of again no signal at home :(. On the whole Orange have been OK for me but I'm sick of having to go outside my house and freeze my nuts off to make a call. I have Orange BB (again this has been good) so could 'hook up' with a UMA phone, but unfortunately Orange won't change my phone, even though I've offered to pay, they have kindly agreed to release me for a few hundred quid . So for me and for the sake of my cold testicles I will keep a close eye on this thread !!
  • Hmm, interesting site that gives you email addresses for CEO's of large companies

    ceoemail com
  • John, I had the same issue with 02, their 'coverage' map showed I could receive calls at my home address and I had to keep going outside to get a signal. I argued with them for ages saying I'd never have signed up if I couldn't receive calls at home and that the contract was void because it was not providing a service on the basis that I could get signal at home. They were obstinate as all call centres are but I was dogged enough to keep demanding my way up the chain of monkeys to someone who could actually make a decision and the contract was terminated
  • Hi all, some interesting arguments but I think it needs to be clarified (it has been said quite a few times in this thread already), that just because there's a clause in the T+Cs that covers this (or any) alterations or eventualities, it does NOT mean that it's legal or cannot be challenged.

Personally I think there's an argument to be had here and I'm more than eager to argue with Orange until the cows come home (or until I can find a job!)
  • Just LOL at everyone happily paying £400-£600 a year to Orange then moaning about an extra £1-2 a month.
  • CEO is called Olaf Swantee - email: olaf dot swantee at orange dot co dot uk

Or you could try a generic email to their executive office team - executive dot office at orange dot co dot uk
  • dealer......why don't you LOL at everyone who has taken a pay cut or reduction in hours to keep a job at all and then gets hit by inflated prices everywhere else. It's not funny to some people
