it is only a good offer if you need a new contract you could probably find a similar deal if you look around the cheapest contract vodafone are offering is £20 a month so you are unlikely to save anything just to get cheap BB and calls
  • I made the mistake of talking Talk Talk and the telephone transferred no problem but the broadband still was not working after 6 months. You have to deal with an Indian call centre who are not very clued-up and have very thick accents.
I kept going round in circles with an incorrect postcode even though on-line it was correct!

I have now cancelled and with Vodafone. Very helpful, slightly more expensive (£5) but all UK-based staff and very helpful. You also get free caller display and half price wireless router (VF branded, but, hey!).

BB goes live 22nd so will keep you posted!

vodafone will text you before they send out the router, it will come via recorded delivery (royal mail), dont expect your new vodafone connection to go live 1st thing in the morning my transfer happened at 6pm they will also text you to tell you the transfer has been completed dont bother checking order status as they do not update it
  • Hi Everyone

My Vodafone went live on Tues 20th with no probs whatsover. I was online again within minutes.

Got back from work ,old BB didnt work, entered new log in details into my own wireless router and boom ,straight back in again! :j

Averaging 4 Meg at the min compared to 1 meg max with Virgin, and no drop outs so far. It was happening 5 or 6 times a day with Virgin

All in all very smooth transfer and very impressed :T

  • I can't read anywhere about non vodaphone customers! or is just simply not available to them. Can I get away with pay as you go??

My Vodafone went live on Tuesday 20th.
So far I am absolutely delighted. It is twice as fast as Ntl freedom - about 2MB whereas ntl was sometimes only half a MB. (this is max speed I could get as I live in the country) It has not gone down once when I have been using it at all & Ntl sometimes went down every 30 minutes - it got a lot worse in last 2 months. Listening to on line live football etc is a pleasure now.
The Vodafone help staff are Irish and seem to be very quick on understanding a problem & offer to phone back & do indeed phone back. Service & call is free on mobile 191.
The wireless router was very easy to set up & I was able to connect within minutes. I had a few problems with their Email to which they admitted a problem & that was sorted in about 12 hours.
In contrast Ntl were extremely unhelpful & very condescending on their help line - for which I was paying 50p a minute.
Immediately after they sent the MAC code they cut off my broadband & I had not given them notice and was happy to pay to maintain a continuous link. After a lot of calls & determined effort on my part I discovered my broadband line was still active & they had changed my main user password. I got someone to reset the password & got Ntl Broadband back until about 1pm on Tuesday 20th when Vodafone was connected. The customer service ntl offers since it became Virgin is much worse & I am very glad I left.
Only one small complaint- Vodafone sent me 2 wireless routers. I am being honest & sending the second one back !
  • As a Vodafone mobile customer, I've been sent the details of this offer. Thanks for the feedback on here - I have decided to go for it. 2 questions though :

Firstly, a chicken & egg situation - should I sign up for VF first, then cancel with BT, or vice versa? Don't want to be left with no BB if BT cut me off immediately and there's a waiting period to connect to VF. But I do realise I will need a MAC code from BT to pass on.

Secondly, is £25 for a wireless router a good deal, and is the one they offer worth it? I don't currently have wireless but, as we run a guest house, it would be a nice added extra for the guests.

    Cheers!
