I'm not concentrating too hard on the categories for now to be honest Munchin (with YNAB) but on recording absolutely everything I spend. I then "balance" the money in my current account with the money in my purse each night to make sure I've remembered it all. I even note down when I throw spare coins to my Sealed Pot.

After a couple of months of recording I hope I'll be able to start actually budgeting properly for the things I forget about like clothes and haircuts!

Hi 117pauline - lovely to see you :). I'm the same as you - hope we never have to go through that experience again and at least you now know what the problem is so you can work on it.

Moomin - it has only been a few days with YNAB but I'm surprised about how much I forget to record. Obviously I'm not talking millions:D but the odd £1 here or there soon adds up and the odd haircut:o

Today was gorgeous and I managed to make it to circuits - go me:). Knee a wee bit achy but I think it's just lack of use and will be fine tmw.

I'm out and about tomorrow and it is such a nice day I think I will manage the scenic route back to the office in the afternoon.

    Have fun tomorrow.

    Morning all

I woke up super early this morning as a murder of crows were parked outside my bedroom window. I went to shut the window and they flew into the field but I didn't get back to sleep. Many moons ago I was listening to radio 2 while on an early morning jog and they were asking what was a collective group of crows and a group of owls called - murder & parliament - I've never forgotten it but unfortunately this morning I could have murdered the crows.

I used my time to read new diaries on this thread and thanks to those diaries I have joined greenredeam and I've found 20% of YNAB but I'm holding out for the steam sale reduction.

Money front - I got a letter from nephews jujitzu class as his yearly membership is up so they would like £20 please. I know its not a lot but it's another little thing I didn't budget for.

Plans today - not much either. Work seems to be the main thing and I have some ironing to do when I get home. I have a hedge to cut but I need a day for that and couldn't face doing it when I get home.

Again I have been up for ages - 5am:eek:. I've just had a few stressful things this week to deal with and hopefully today is the last day. OH was a bit of a twerp last night so he hasn't helped things but it is Friday & the weekend is in sight:D.

I'm using "You need a budget" thanks to other forum posters who mentioned it - it is addictive. My trial runs out in about a month so I'm keeping an eye out for a discount code. Steam have 25% of it this morning until 30th June. I'm not sure if it will go any cheaper but will keep an eye.

On the money front I have 280 points on greenredeam. I have sent of for free perfume samples and I have entered a draw through Topcashback to try and win £100.

I think I should hear about my promotion today but I've been hearing that since January. Even though I shouldn't get my hopes up I always do.

    Have a lovely day everyone.

    Hi all,

I woke up before 5 this morning....seriously need to do something about that. I need my sleep:).

This morning I spent some time chatting to a friendly Sky person. My contract is up for renewal in July and I have TV, broadband and phone with them. Ok I use broadband but I'm at the back of the queue for phone and tv. I've got a wee bit knocked of it so it is now £39 per month - quite pleased.

I was going to go to pilates this morning but knee is a bit achy so instead I will leave it and go for a run tomorrow.

Finally finally - I got promoted:D:D:D. Ok I'm not sure of the start date but it doesn't matter I got promoted.

    Morning all,

I had such a good day yesterday - I got loads of emails and phone calls congratulating me on my promotion which was really lovely:).

I also have a confession to make - I started another diet 2 weeks ago and it has made me miserable, fed up & starving these last 2 weeks. I know I know I can't do diets but I keep thinking that as I have recovered from my ED its time to shift the extra weight. So back to my accountability thread:o - Diets don't work for me.. now could someone please slap me when I forget that wee rule.

Money front - I have none until payday on Thurs - so that's quite easy to work out:o. I have money in my purse & I have to pay for dinner tonight and I'm going to a play tomorrow so it will be gone by Thurs.

I have also lost my glasses - I have searched high and low since last week but still can't find them. If I can't find them today then I'm going to have to get a new pair. I do have contacts but they irritate my eyes after a few hours. Another expense I hadn't factored in:o. A few prayers to St Anthony might help:).

I'm working close to home so I don't need to leave until 9am which is quite a novelty for me. Have a good day everyone:)

    Afternoon all

I've had a very busy morning and lots of money spent :o but it couldn't be avoided.

    Spends
    • £130 car tax
    • £175 orthodics
    • £16.50 beauticians
    • £2.50 papers for Uncle
    • £50 glasses (still can't find the old ones)
Total = £374 - it really doesn't take long to add up. It is all coming out of this months salary so I will have no savings but at least I can see where the money went this month.

One thing I would like to do as per YNAB:) is have a buffer of a months salary. I know that isn't realistic at the moment because I have a kitchen to pay off by Jan 15 but it is something I'm going to aim towards.

This morning I was in such a mad rush because my appointments for podiatrist etc were all over the place. I had to pay my car tax today but realised that I hadn't printed my car insurance....finally sitting still after a manic morning. OH was working to 12 so he should be on his way home.

We are going out for dinner tomorrow as I have a voucher that needs using up by Monday.

    Have a good day everyone:)

    Hi again,

I'm sitting watching Miss Marple - exciting I know:).

July is just round the corner and I so need to keep within my budgets especially as I have spent so much today. I'm keeping an eye out for NSKs July challenge.

My challenge this month is to bar myself from Amazon. I don't spend much but it a few £s here and there on books & stuff soon adds up.

I also want to buy some new stuff for my new job and I think the next sale starts on the 19th July so keeping my eye out for some smart jackets.

OH is cutting the grass so I guess I better start on the kitchen.

    Morning all,

OH & I are heading to the beach as soon as he gets himself sorted:). I've already been to mass and visited my sister so it is all go for a Sunday morning.

Eating front - the reason I started dieting again & quit is because I have put on about 2 stone since my lightest weight and I know that it is at least a stone too heavy for me. After ED I continued to overeat but I need now to get a handle on binge eating (compared to my ED days the bingeing is nothing). Last night I had an Indian with OH and stopped eating when I was full but later I wanted more food. I worked out I was just thirsty and bored so I drank some water and went to bed. I had seen a counsellor who suggested that I should follow my own path and not read so many recovery blogs or dieting blogs/magazines as it could reinforce my behaviour. This is what I am now going to concentrate on - stop binge eating - & to try and work out what works for me and I'm going to do that by keeping a track on here. :D

Money front - my neighbours young son is soo funny he said to me "guess where we are going when Daddy wins the lottery? Disney land". I think we all wish the lottery was a realistic option. I have a voucher for a meal which runs out today so I guess that is where we will be getting dinner. I'm going to cook some bolognese & pasta tonight and it should do me a few days in work.

    Morning all

I'm up super early and need to get into gear. OH & I went out for dinner on Sunday and it was delicious and free courtesy of my gift voucher:).

I've joined NSKs "Back to basics" challenge for July and am busy tinkering with my budget. I'm determined that this month I can budget enough so that I don't touch August salary until 1 August.

I had a massive clear out of my desk yesterday in work - I know that I will not hear anything about my move for a while but it is a nice feeling to start decluttering.
